PRESIDENTIAL NEWS OF THE DAY: President and Mrs. Bush attended St. John's this morning, and GWB went for a mountain bike ride. The first couple also made a brief television appearance to congratulate the new Iraqi government. Here are the President's brief remarks:
THE PRESIDENT: The formation of a unity government in Iraq is a new day for the millions of Iraqis who want to live in freedom. And the formation of the unity government in Iraq begins a new chapter in our relationship with Iraq. This morning, I called the President, the Prime Minister and the Speaker to congratulate them on working together to form the unity government. I assured them that the United States will continue to assist the Iraqis in the formation of a free country, because I fully understand that a free Iraq will be an important ally in the war on terror, will serve as a devastating defeat for the terrorists and al Qaeda, and will serve as an example for others in the region who desire to be free.

Great pictures, Wolfstar! Thanks for doing the hard work of providing us with Sanity Island. We sure can use it!
I love that the Bush men can cry without feeling embarrassed about it. Quite the men!

I'm convinced the RATs were trying to get their hands on more of the relief/rebuilding funds by backing Landrieu.
As pointed out on that thread, this is yet another example of Democrats NOT backing black politicians.
OTOH, look at the Bush cabinet......

tom, unless you check FR frequently, posts can "age off" the board. On a really busy day, that could be just a matter of hours. Your ping list doesn't age off, so if you are pinged when the dose goes up, you won't ever miss it. You will always see it when you check your pings.
It's insurance to make sure that you won't miss a dose or an update. Esp. the times when there are few pics so our wonderful dosers just add a few to the previous day's post. Those get pinged too.
I don't like to miss any, and the ping list is the best way to make sure you don't.

Hi there! Is it permittable (sp) to post something from another blog?

My mother was very upset to see Laura Bush's outfit today - a Hillary uniform. "I hope she never wears that again," she said.
What was Laura thinking?!

I don't have the answer to that (btw, it's permissible. :)
Perhaps someone else can answer Annie's question?

Your ping list doesn't age off,Well I hadn't thought of that. Usually I check frequently but sometimes I'm away for a day or two. Good point. Thanks.

What is wrong with it?To those of my generation, it may seem as a faux pas, but we love Lady Laura and we let her guide us in adjusting to the times.

It was too reminiscent of Hillary's uniform Ol' Crusty, and of women who like to emulate her.
