14 GOP INCUMBENTS DEFEATED IN PRIMARY
capoliticalnews.com (received via email) ^ | May 20, 2006 | Stephen Frank

Conservatives, nationwide are getting angry about the loss of principle by GOP'ers in office. Big spending in Washington and Sacramento. The inability to control illegal aliens. Failure to protect jobs and the failure to stop the social agenda of liberals in our schools in finally causing conservatives to say NO to GOP incumbents, even if it means we could lose seats in a legislative body. The thought is simple, why protect a Republican running for office if their voting record will differ little from the Democrats.

In Utah, GOP Congressman Chris Cannon could not win his Parties endorsement for re-election--his opponent got more votes in Convention then he did.

In Nebraska, Congressman tom Osborne, and legend in the state, was defeated for the nomination for Governor due to his weak stand on illegal aliens.

In Heardon, Virginia, five incumbent city council members lost re-election due to their creation of a "Day Labor Center" for illegal aliens.

In the California 50th Congressional District Special Election, the Democrat is ahead of the Republican, since the Republican has been portrayed as more liberal than many Democrats--has even supported Democrats in the past.

But, Pennsylvania last Tuesday should have been the two by four to every GOP candidate and office holder in the nation. At least 14 incumbent GOP office holders, including the top two in the State Senate were defeated in a Republican primary, by Republicans. The good news is that if they had not been defeated, many GOP voters would have stayed home in November. This is a lesson for us in California, and the nation, GOP voters have had enough of Republicans acting like Democrats. Our candidates need to stand for GOP principles, then vote and govern that way once in office.

No longer will GOP voters settle for, "well at least they have a "R" after their name." There is a revolt going on in GOP ranks and it is moving across the nation.

If the only two viable choices are someone who will punch me in the nose 24/7 and someone who will only do so eight hours a day, I'll take that small break for now and work for something better in the future.

I think a RINO is worse than a Dem.

RINOs translate into GOP committee chairmanships and committee majorities, which makes a huge difference. If you are the GOP, you definitely prefer RINOs to DEMs. Unfortunately, if you prefer GOP leadership to DEM leadership, then you MUST prefer RINOs over DEMs.

The Primaries are the perfect place for Conservatives to show their displeasure, and not during the General Elections. As you have shown, it is possible to make our voices heard without handing victories to the Democrats.

Dang good point.

Those who wonder how Democrats could possibly be worse are likely to find out.

Thanks for posting Jim Rob. Sounds like the R for Republican brand is starting to mean something more than just "not a DemocRAT."

I could tolerate it if RINOs occasionally wandered off the reservation. But increasingly they're acting like conservatives can go take a hike and conservatives have enough.

Don't count Newt out. He is now visiting a lot of states saying all the right things. Recently he was in New Hampshire. Now why do you imagine that might be? I say it's for a 2008 run for the White House.

Sometimes it takes a dose of bitter medicine to cure the liberal RINO disease.

I hate to say this, but I'm not sure I would have voted for GWB if I had known he would go this whacky on immigration.

Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and do what needs to be done.

As for Guiliani, no from me.
McCain, I'll sit home and watch fresh paint dry.

I think it had a lot more to do with the fact [Osborne] didn't take much of a stand on ANYTHING..

Didn't take any stand in Congress, didn't take any stand in the gov's race. Tom Osborne is a political zero.

if they'd put in term limits like they said they would 12 years ago, the country would be a far stronger, freer republic, and we'd have been spared the spectacle of good men slowly corupted by power and the corrosive effect on ideals of trying to retain it.

This is what primaries are for.

But if a RINO is the party's nominee, he will likely be more conservative than the Dem and in the general election, the choice ic clear.

They're acting like a union telling management (us) how things will be done.

Hope so Jim, but of the supposed "2008 republican" candidates, only George Allen is a true Conservative!

Watch Mike Pence.
