...Getting into France just got harder

Sarkozy's reform bill will "stiffen the rules for immigrants in France, establish a sort of quota system and let authorities cherry-pick who gets in - such as doctors, computer whizzes or sports stars." (Independent Online, South Africa) "The bill, which also makes it difficult for immigrants already in France to have their families join them, is expected to go to the [French] Senate for final approval in June." (BBC)

Sarkozy himself is the son of a Hungarian immigrant. Promoting his reform proposal, Sarkozy had earlier said that "We can't keep welcoming to France everyone who wants to come and to whom we can offer neither housing nor employment." (Le Figaro)

Well you certainly got the DUMB part of it down pat. Perhaps you can work on learning how a Free Society works since your posting shows you have NO clue about how our Constitutional Republic works.

They are too wrapped up into Bush Derangement Syndrome, recently enhanced by the tacit and scary realization they are hand in hand with Bush on this issue.

The Senate's actions in the last few days scare the crap out of me. It is ASTOUNDING they don't realize they will permanently destroy this country with the crap they are slinging. I mean for real and very permanently.

Gee what does this make 15,000 posts screaming EXACTLY the same thing?

No, this was read and discussed on Mark Levin last night. And it tells us something when France, who previously had wide open borders and has had such major problems recently, has had to face facts about vast migrations of unskilled and unassimilated immigrants who end up living off the welfare state after their first generation.

So this is quite relevant.

well, i first heard the concept from the americans that if something does not work it is no good, whether theoretically superior or not. so by that definition, your superior system is not superior. i think you americans have given the capitalists too much power. in europe people have long been sceptical of capitalists due to the abysmal experiences of the Industrial Revolution.

The ability to decide who gets in the country is not fascism. I do agree that fascism will happen if nothing changes as the population would then welcome a fascist to restore law and order because elected politicians refuse to do so.

I looked it up...Unreal the complete and total hypocrisy, especially the last part...

Article 33. Foreigners are those who do not possess the qualifications set forth in Article 30. They are entitled to the guarantees granted by Chapter I, Title I, of the present Constitution; but the Federal Executive shall have the exclusive power to compel any foreigner whose remaining he may deem inexpedient to abandon the national territory immediately and without the necessity of previous legal action.

Foreigners may not in any way participate in the political affairs of the country.

Perhaps this is even more relevant when you compare it to the item in the sidebar just below this one:

"Ad hominem -- how intelligent."

He's a member of the very vocal FROBL.

Dane, Dark(wing hawk something), Peach and this guy.
They seem to have made a pact to show up on all the threads that have to do with immigration and champion their cause. Most of their posts are as insightful as the one you just got.

Ain't that something?

If you even LOOK like you might say anything about Mexico's politics, they can toss you out on your ear.

And they defend their southern border like the Berlin Wall!

Say what you will, the French ruling class has a sense of national identity and care for its citizens. Most of our Ruling classes are set for globalism and wage depression. It juices up their investment returns in the short run.

That's a very good way of putting it. Sometimes I wonder what happened to our national identity. Seems to have evaporated by the time Clinton left office.

Well since you do not have even clue one about how our system actually works the Free part seems noexistent while the screaming hate and bile, the DUMB part, seems to totally govern you. I suggest you scream less and actually LEARN something. Screaming your utter ignornace of even the simplest facts on how our Immigration system works for all Freepers to see is DUMB. More FREE thought less DUMB ranting please.

"Gee what does this make 15,000 posts screaming EXACTLY the same thing? "

Gee, it's a good thing you aren't given to hyperbole in your posts. Perhaps it is YOU whining because the bulk of the messages want the borders closed, and find fault with the administration?

Again, what in the heck are you talking about?

So far I don't what I said that sent you into a tailspin.

And I've reported your insults.

Lets see if the mods can show you how discussions are supposed to be conducted.

"from my history i remember the germans also had huge losses in WW I"

I didn't contend otherwise. I was just disputing the notion that the French are an inherently cowardly people. You don't sustain the horrific losses they sustained in WW I (not to mention the Napoleanic years) without having some backbone in your genetic makeup.

I agree that that backbone is increasingly hard to locate these days, but I suspect it's somewhere in the Gallic gene pool.
