This ethnic group, by far the fastest growing in our nation, will likely tip one way or the other as a result of what happens in Washington this year and next. With the Hispanic vote expected to top 20 percent by 2020, the resulting collective decision of the Latino community could be the most important factor in the future of America's political parties.
Some Republicans feel squeezed between the demands of their right-wing base and their desire to appeal to Hispanic voters. But they need not make a choice. They can have their cake and eat it too.
Liberals want the guest workers, and conservatives want the wall.
Make a deal.
Give them both what they want. The president or, failing that, the Republican Party in Congress needs to put together a package that delivers both. The political impact of such a move would be sensational.
It would do more to build a link between the GOP and the Latino vote than any other policy decision. It could lead to a realignment of the political loyalties of the Hispanic community.

Agree. Lay-off got me behind for a QUARTER of a year. Figured no big deal, always ontime before, IRS would cut me a huss on term payments.
YEEyah...NEVER HAtchee! They wanted all or ME. And DA-ME didn't think I needed a lawyer for behavior that was all HONEST.
Before said and done, I had to cash in a VERY substantial retirement plan to pay principal, interest and penalaties. Then there was "early withdrawal"...thought that was how additional deductions were avoided...or is that ascrewed?

Despite "talk" of the IRS, NEVER thought Government would do such to a Citizen Down but not Out.
As for the 'Migs, maybe they gonna get 50-year no-interest loan to pay back-taxes.
Fellow citizens that work for the IRS are a disgrace. Even worse are the elected folks that direct them forth.
