VIRGINIA BEACH-Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson is warning that, according to God, storms and possibly a tidal wave will pound America's coastline this year.

Sigh. I guess I'm going to have to use the ouija board again.
Well, in that case, Robertson is your man, for sure!
;-0
First Joe Bastardi, now Pat Robertson. Anybody getting a reading from the Magic 8-Ball?
Is Robertson producing Storm Stories these day's?
LOL! That's it, in a nutshell (to use a particularly apropos term).
No.....don't remember. Remind me. Besides......I'm a work in progress. My church puts up with me. I don't do this for anyone........Jesus is just the best, period.
No doubt. Point well taken. I'll reiterate......I'm not here to defend Robertson's prophecy particularly; just the fact that God DOES speak to people...and often.
Dunno about that. Pat's primary business (shearing the sheep), of course, has always been highly profitable, but his choice of secondary investments seems questionable, to say the least. Liberian gold mines? Obsolete oil refineries?
Of course, the former was just an opportunity, not doubt, to launch a joint venture with that other saintly character, Charles Taylor, currently being persecuted by an international tribunal for a few unimportant little crimes against humanity, such as hacking arms and legs off hundreds of women and children. Pat attacked GWB for pressuring Taylor to step down, and described Taylor as a "Christian, Baptist president".
Your donations at work, folks.
Fascinating link, thanks.
Does anyone even listen to that old huckster anymore? If they do... sad.
I especially hope that the following excerpt from Dr. Gray's 2006 forecast is indeed God's will, no matter what Pat Robertson has heard. :-)
It is rare to have two consecutive years with such a strong simultaneous combination of high amounts of major hurricane activity together with especially favorable steering flow currents. The historical records and the laws of statistics indicate that the probability of seeing another two consecutive hurricane season like 2004-2005 is very low. Even though we expect to see the current active period of Atlantic major hurricane activity to continue for another 15-20 years, it is statistically unlikely that the coming 2006 and 2007 hurricane seasons, or the seasons which follow, will have the number of major hurricane U.S. landfall events as we have seen in 2004-2005.
Nice work, if you can get it.
I actually was sorry I brought it up since it was on another thread a few months ago, and we're not supposed to take things from thread to thread. I was just in shock at first. The argument was about why we were in Afghanistan (my son is an Iraq War vet)......I said to fight terrorists and keep America safe, and you disagreed. I kept asking what we were there for, and you kept saying that the Generals didn't know anything, and the military guys did, and said some disparaging things about saving the Muslims and not ourselves.
Anyway, I didn't know what it was all about, because you told me to do things to myself, and frankly, things that I had never heard anyone say in my life....some things that I could only guess what you meant....(I was raised in a Christian home, and am old enough that men didn't accost women in public, and I am very careful about what movies I see, so the words you said hit me like a sledgehammer. I can't forget them, actually, and I wish I could).
I wondered afterwards if you thought that Patton and Eisenhower didn't know anything, but I never wanted to go back and ask because I was devastated by what you said.
That's it, in a nutshell......other than that I ended it by thanking you for your service to this great country, and told you to thank your sons for me.
What is it about these televangalist guys that they feel like they have to out-tacky each other?
Only a matter of time now before McCain appears on the 700 Club...
Equal time and all, you know!
No hurricane but Boston and north plus New Hamsphire have just experienced the worst rainfall/flood damage in 70 years.
We're doomed!!!!!!! The only way to stop this tragedy is to
make a love offering to Pat. He will prevent this event if
we donate enough money to his cause of the day.
A bit of sarcasm, and I am a devout Christian .
