Additional details: the fence will consist of 1,480 quarter-mile segments separated by one mile of open land. Ok, not really, but if there's a way to make it sound good in the abstract but defeat its purpose in the reality, they'll find it.

Let the contruction begin now and protect our borders before going after criminal illegals with violent records both here and in Mexico. They damn well better hire American workers to erect the fence.
My thoughts are that they are only pretending to build one just as they pretended to enforce the laws against illegal incursions and prosecuting businesses for hiring illegals for the last 20 years!
NO AMNESTY.

Why not 1110 miles of single layer fence instead of 370 miles of triple layer? /sarc

""What we have here has become a symbol for the right wing in American politics," countered Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill. If made law, "our relationship with Mexico would come down to a barrier between our two countries."" No, you opportunistic jerk. Mexico has not been a good neighbor by disrespecting our border and laws. It actively (not passively) encourages its citizens to break our laws. It "has become a symbol" of the corruption and utter contempt of the do-nothing Mexican government. Mexico abused the privilege of a totally open border, so they lose it. TFB, Dick!

Final Proof! The U.S. is turning into France:
- Our government has been infested with American Vichies
- They're giving us our own Maginot Line, but have no real will to defend the sovereignty of the country

Like a big rock in a big river, the water must now go around. This should help concentrate things on the ends of that fence which would seem like the logical place to put the guns.

Its a start. Amazing what Washington will do when "we the people" get pissed off. Maybe the Minuteman Project will build the rest.

Hey... I HAVE AN IDEA!!!
Put a toll booth out in the middle of the desert and require them to put a dime in to make the gate open...
That will really screw them up. They will have to send someone back to get a bag of dimes.
