A caller just called in and talked about how people start off with low paying jobs and then move up as they gain more skills, and especially, their kids become full fledged hard working Americans and how these folks reduce the cost of nearly everything for all Americans and increase prosperity across the country.
This is true and the same thing happens with the minimum wage laws, which you eloquently argue against. People start off low and work their way up. When the minimum wage is raised, they often arent hired at all, hurting them, employers, and US consumers.
I think this is a contradiction you need to address.
I don't favor expanding government to restrict employers (just like the family medical leave act which you just, also eloquently, argued against), in who they hire, illegal or not.
As far as immigrants 'taking' American jobs, IMO, if you need government to protect your job, if you're own skill, work ethic, and diligence can't hold the job for you, then you don't deserve it in the first place.

I will tell you what good it will do. They will not be able to walk that far through the desert and survive. The land will become the barrier. This is a good thing.
Unless the wall is defended somehow, it's just another easily circumvented obstacle.

Agreed. This fence will be built when?? In what year?Anyways, it's cover to allow millions upon millions of illegal aliens and the wives and children. The impact on welfare, housing and medical (all gubbermint provided) will be humongous

Someone better check the fine print to make sure it's not a fence to protect them from over-zealous border agents during their entry into our country.
