I searched but did not see a thread already open for tonights speech. I think this is the most important speech the President will probably make for the remainder of his term.

In reality, I don't think he has the authority to post the NG on the borders... it was tried before and shot down. If they are there to provide support so more agents can get in the field, I think that's a clever way around that problem...
Could be wrong, but that's my two cents.
My hope too, since the relased remarks, didn't surprise me nor satisfy me.
But I thought enough of Dubya to vote for him twice, so I owe him the respect of listening to what he has to say.
And I'll do it off line its too important of a speech to try and follow the cheerleading for either side as he gives it.

I am curious why this speech is at 8 Eastern. It must suck at times to live in the Western and Mountain times zones. I suspect when the President speaks live many people(the ones he trying to reach out to) will still be in there cars trying to get home.

PS..my husband just came in from work, and said if Bush even mentions these people are here to do the jobs Americans won't do, he's got his barf bag ready! He picked tobacco in the CT. valley and did construction in HS..and got paid very well..

The combination of that..and the concept of the speech being released before hand...that makes it easier for some people to not listen to it.

American's are being underestimated on the subject. I find it sad that we are being ignored/taken for granted by our elected officials.

i think what should happen is that we the American's should get to vote on what should be done, this shouldn't be up to congress and the Presidant!
After the speech the season finale of Prison break will come on, followed by 24.
