President's Immigration speech - Live thread

Edited on 05/15/2006 4:38:26 PM PDT by Jim Robinson. [history]

I searched but did not see a thread already open for tonights speech. I think this is the most important speech the President will probably make for the remainder of his term.

Mod Note:
This could turn into a whack-a-troll thread. All immigration trolls that would like to participate should post here. It'll be interesting to see if we mods can whack the trolls faster than they can sign up new accounts.

One more time: It was a citizenship amnesty. It bypassed existing quotas. There was no getting in the back of the line.

Of course it was a long drawn out process, but that is what the green card-to-citizenship process normally is.

You're using semantics, or you're just rationalizing away the truth.

Uh what citizenship quotas? How long did one have to be here to apply for citizenship? What was the normal length of time to immigrate in 1986? What is currently proposed? Is that bypassing current immigrant quotas?

Tell me how you feel

Can you point out someone in Bush's cabinet or staff or anyone appointed by the President who is NOT a member of the CFR, or Trilateral Commission??? You may find an exception to the rule, but you won't find many...What's the common bond between Dad Bush and Clinton??? The CFR...

Like I say, it may sound loony to some, but when one starts checking the evidence, it's doesn't appear to be as far out as some might think...

Would you be willing to sending your boxed sets of TV series 24 to the troops now that you've watched them?

No. The president is not putting them on the green card-to-citizenship line

You weren't paying attention as to how his effective-visa-without-a-visa was supposed to work. It's a reward for line jumping. Instead of waiting in line outside the country as those who respect our laws are doing, they'll be rewarded for sneaking in and cutting in line.

No, you weren't paying attention. Read what he said.

(My Underline)

Reagan '86/Bush '06, there is no comparison.

The article is about RR not GWB. Is your JBS heroes' assessment of RR correct in your view?

Rent Tune in Tomorrow. The Peter Falk character is the only thing worth watching, but it's something no one should miss.

Buster Brown was the name of the SHOE COMPANY, which was the sponsor of the Andy Devine show. The commerical showed a child's shoe, then came in closer and closer onto the picture of Buster Brown and his dog, which was in the inside of the heel of every shoe.

I accused you of nothing, I only gave my opinion on the 2008 POTUS race.

I supported President Bush long before most knew who he was, or if he would run. I saw a winner then, and I see one now, George Allen will win in 2008.

"Rabies. The foaming at the mouth tipped me off."

Must have been one of the rabid dogs in this forum, snapping at everyone's ass who disagrees with the Kool-Aid drinking, Bib wearing, knee walking form of Republicanism....

When a person itemizes the issues they hold dear, and thinks their represention has betrayed them --- the rational and intelligent technique to "argue" is to present a reasoned response -- not to accuse one of being ill or insane...

That was the technique of Nazis and the KGB...

So Reagan was a tool of the CFR?

I didn't say that...They did...I can't disprove it...And they seem to have evidence, if one was to check it out...

Bush's problem is that he is selling the slogan, "comprehensive reform", while ignoring rational, reasoned analysis of the ill consequences of that bill, because the idea itself "comprehensive reform" fits his good intentions.

You deserve rewards not for your good intentions, but for the reasoned and rational ways in which you chose to turn those intentions into actions, and only for the good, if any that results from those actions. You are not rewarded simply for feeling better (a very liberal thing).

The only thing "comprehensive" about what Bush, McPain, McKennedy et al are selling is how comprehenisvely they are fooling the public in the 400 amendments of the bill.

Try starting here:

Buster Brown was the name of the children's shoe company, which was the sponsor of the Andy Devine show, in the 1950s.

And if you were 8 years old, in 1941, those were not exactly "peaceful" nor "calm" times.

Like they had hard evidence that communists were putting fluoride in our water to make us impotent? You are defending an organization that is accusing one of our greatest presidents of being a member of a conspiracy to destroy this country. Are you really sure you want to go there?
