Wow!

Rush is being VERY critical of the possible speech tonight. He is saying the Public isn't going to be fooled, so if this NG proposal has no 'teeth', it isn't going to fly.

There is some serious misinformation in this post. For example, the H-4 visa isn't new. It is the visa granted to the the spouse and children of any H visa class holder. H-4 visa holders are not allowed to work, but are allowed to go to school. The provision on increasing the number of visas to immediate family members of green card holders is, in my opinion, long overdue. For example, a U.S. citizen can bring a foreign spouse into the U.S. immediately. A non-immigrant visa holder can bring in his immediate family right away. If you get your green card while your family is outside the country, they are now processing applications filed 10 years age and if you file today, it will be 20 years before your wife can even enter the U.S. While the application is pending, your spouse could not even enter the country! If you had a newborn and filed today, they would age-out (i.e. become non-dependent adults) by the time their application was processes. Essentially, a permanent immigrant would never see his children again! That part of the system is very broken.

What should be considered is the point based system that Canada and Australia use. If you speak English, you get some points. If you have a degree, you get more points. If you are in a critical occupation (doctor, nurse, etc) you get more points. If you are under 30, you get more points. If you have family in the country, you get points. When it comes time to select immigrants to enter the country, you pick the ones with the most points and go down the list until the quota for the year is full. To adjust the mix of immigrants to reflect the needs of the nation, you adjust the number of points in each category. Very flexible system.

Thanks for posting this report. One suggestion: Please put up direct links to this and one other critical report from Sessions web site. I'm outraged that the U.S. Senate would even consider such a bill. Every pro-border-jumper office holder must be thrown out of office or impeached. "Treason" is a very good reason for impeachment.

Chain-migration occurs when an immigrant becomes a citizen.

I presume that also applies once an immigrant has an anchor baby. If so, no need for any one of the adults to become citizens; the minute the baby is born a ticket to all immediate relatives to come to this country is issued.

By increasing the annual cap of 65,000 to 115,000, automatically increasing the new cap by 20 percent each year the cap is hit, and creating a new exemption to new cap for anyone who has an “advanced degree in science, technology, engineering, or math” from any foreign university, the number of H-1B workers coming into the United States would undoubtedly escalate.

This will destroy the sciences in this country and wipe out every high tech, high wage field we've got.

Management, doctors (soon to be replaced by foreigners), and lawyers will be the only fields protected.

This is bullsh!t!! WTF did I serve and defend my country for so I could watch a bunch of political b@#ches sell the middle class out !?!?!?!

The current Congress, Executive Branch and Corporate fat cats are hell-bent on turning the U.S. into a 3rd World country with a massive gulf between the haves and the have nots. They are happy to be on top, with a massive under-class. The middle class is viewed as a threat to the life-style of the elite. This is a very dangerous time for ordinary Americans striving to maintain or grow their quality of life. Like massive tax increases, the threat will not impact those who want to make the decisions. The middle-class must rise up and be heard.

the pubbies have a problem. their choices like those of the people on flight 73 are between certain death and near certain death.

If they allow the illegals citizenship--the illegal/legals will do what they did after 1986: vote democratic and tip the country to a democratic majority as they have done in california and that because after 1993 in California many mexicans began voting in california to preserve gov bennies--for which the dems excel. There won't be social security benefit for Americans of retirement age from the illegals/legals because they will suck up what ever they put into the economy--as they are now. They won't yield a net gain. ie they won't pay for anyone's social security.

Everyone but everyone who has ever been to any government building that dispenses anything from health care to drivers lisences can't help but notice that the place is swamped with foreigners. Basically the welfare state system set up in the 1960's is being totally gamed by foreigners.

What the president looks like he is about to do will demoralize the republicans bringing on the effects of the 1992 & 1996 elections. There may not even be a third party but when W builds in a reversal of the fortunes of the war of 1848--it creates a kind of passivity in people when they see their leaders commit them to the status of world historical losers.

If Bush decides to put up a wall and expel the illegals then there is a chance to preserve Republican majorities. It would be helpful to promise that the USA will kill the cost of water desalination and transport so as to make it economically possible to turn the deserts 1000 miles from any desert seacoast -- green. (this would increase the habitable size of the USA by a third and double the habitable size of Mexico.)This work is already ongoing and will be accomplished in five years or so--or in about the same time frame that GM promises to have a cost effective fuel cell car. For GM as it is for the GOP its do or die time.

The chief difference between the pubbies current predicament and flight 93 is that they are currently in the cockpit. (if you presume that bush is a republican or at least more of a republican than a bilderburger.)

The point here is that if these guys cannot act like loyal americans at least they can act like republicans. ie people who have a stake in the continuity of the republican party.

Since they are not doing this the republicans in the white house and senate all need to be smacked on both sides of the face and kicked in the but.

Wow, if this article is true, then we must start to think about the Bush we see now as being a possible stunt double that was slipped in during one of his trips outside the country. :)

This incredible state of affairs will sink the dollar's exchange rate as other countries realize we are going crazy, or regressing into stupidity or are soon to file bankruptcy.

The huge immigration will really help our Social Security shortfall. Way beyond budget busting! Why don't we just file bankruptcy now and save the environment.
