BUSH SET FOR IMMIGRATION SPEECH WHITE HOUSE President Bush is getting set for a prime-time speech on immigration tomorrow night. Aides note the 8 p-m, Eastern Time, speech will be the president's first from the Oval Office that does not involve Iraq and the war on terrorism. And they say that reflects Bush's "passion" on immigration. He's speaking as the Senate is poised to clear a compromise measure including his idea for a guest worker program. However, a rival House bill is limited to a border crackdown, and meshing the two won't be easy. Stand Up For America !

BUSH: I don't believe we ought to have amnesty. I don't think we ought to reward illegal behavior. There are plenty of people standing in line to become a citizen. And we ought not to crowd these people ahead of them in line. If they want to become a citizen, they can stand in line, too. Kerry supported amnesty for illegal aliens.

Yes, President Bush, there are 4 to 5 million in line waiting to immigrate legally into the country. They have waits of 6 to 25 years, with only one million visas available, and many of those are business visas. Now you are attempting to shove 12 million in front of them by allowing them to wait and work in the country while those trying to come here legally wait overseas. Please let's not have any of this lying that allowing illegal aliens to stay here is not an amnesty. It is an amnesty in every sense of the word.

Our proposal neither rewards nor unduly punishes illegal aliens; instead, it places them on equal footing with other immigrants so that every individual has an equal opportunity to obtain a green card and citizenship.

No, it does not put illegal aliens on a equal footing with other immigrants, it rewards them by allowing the illegal alien to exit and immediately re-enter the country, while the legal immigrant has to wait 6 to 25 years overseas for a visa.

That's scary. If Hastert stacks the conference committee with open-borderists, then the whole thing can pass both the whole House and whole Senate on the strength of Solid Democrat support and a fistful of open-border RINOs.

And then it's law, as Bush appears eager to sign an amnesty, any amnesty.

The demographic changes unleashed by this thing will be enormous and irreversible.

As everyone can see the legal immigration from Mexico has been almost twice as large as from all of Europe. This does not include the illegal immigration from Mexico.

Illinois Minuteman rallied to protest in front of his office this weekend

Here is what I proprose then. Since we have an estimated 11 million illegals here now, most of whom (I'll say 8 million) are from Mexico/Central America/South America (M/CA/SA) and we assume the rest are from other parts of the world, we need to balance that out? Right? That leaves a differential of 8 million.

So. First, we secure our southern border and northern border. Then, taking up to 3 million legal immigrants, who meet our qualifications, per year from these other ethnic regions around the world. (Note: we are not taking 3 million each, but a total of three million each year till they reach that 8 million goal per ethinc region):

1. The European Union/Great Britain

2. Eastern Europe

3. Russia/The Balkan States

4. China

5. Western Asia

6. Southern Asia

7. The Middle East

8. The African Tribal Nations

9. South Africa

10. New Zealand/Australia/South Pacific

11. The Eskimo/Aleut/Northern Peoples

12. The Carribean

That's the best I can come up with. Any more?

In the meantime (you knew there was one of those, didn't you?) we put a moratorium on immigration from the M/CA/SA region until that quota of 8 million from each of those other regions is met bringing in a limit of 3 million per year regardless of the makeup.

That means we have to bring in 96 million from those other 12 regions. Dividing that by 3 million means that the moratorium on the M/CA/SA region would last 32 years.
