Bush set for immigration speech

BUSH SET FOR IMMIGRATION SPEECH

WHITE HOUSE President Bush is getting set for a prime-time speech on
immigration tomorrow night.

Aides note the 8 p-m, Eastern Time, speech will be the president's first from the Oval Office that does not involve Iraq and the war on terrorism. And they say that reflects Bush's
"passion" on immigration.

He's speaking as the Senate is poised to clear a compromise measure including his idea for a guest worker program. However, a rival House bill is limited to a border crackdown, and meshing the two won't be easy.

Stand Up For America !

"We have room for but one flag, the American flag...
We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...
And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Mexican lawmakers claim fraud by Fox's stepsons

Snip: The committee's investigation focuses on the construction and real estate dealings of Manuel Bribiesca and his brother Jorge Alberto, sons of first lady Marta Sahagun from her first marriage. Fox and Sahagun, who wed in 2001, have no children together.

The committee, which was set up last June, claims the Bribiesca brothers conspired with officials to buy government properties at a fraction of their worth. Among the evidence are copies of checks allegedly used to buy the properties and documents recording the purchases. The Bribiesca brothers deny the accusations. Fox and Sahagun have come out in support of the men.

Marta Sahagun (Fox) in the center of the political hurricane

Snip: Having a reputation as a fighter, and not precisely for México’s well-being, but rather for personal power, these days Marta Sahagún is not going through the best moments as the first lady.

Crossing the line into Çalifornia

Snip: Angelica Escoto drops her children at school and leaves the country. She's back every afternoon to pick them up.

She is among more than 100,000 Mexicans who cross 'the line' into California every day to work, shop, study, golf, walk on the beach, see a movie or attend a San Diego Padres game. Some 10 million Mexicans have border passes allowing them to travel up to 25 miles into the U.S. whenever they want.

Family skirts law to live in Elko

Snip: Average family incomes are $47,800 for legal immigrants and $47,700 for the native-born immigrants.

Pew estimated that unauthorized migrants make up a significant percentage of workers in a few occupational categories. They represent 24 percent of all workers employed in farming occupations; 17 percent of workers in cleaning; 14 percent of workers in construction; and 12 percent in food preparation industries, Pew reported.

Although she has had a car for two years, Maria doesn’t have a driver’s license or insurance. She said she failed to get a driver’s license when the Department of Motor Vehicles looked up her Social Security number and found it doesn’t exist.

"Nice" articles.

Screw America and Americans, as often as possible, as long as possible, as you'll get rewarded.

her top 11 employees alone cost the federal payroll $782,000 a year, with the top five earning salaries of $91,000

Has she thanked Americans for paying for all these salaries? We are sending Mexico billions of dollars to "help" it's "infrastructure," and we're slated to "help" even more.

Until we start seizing unregistered, unlicensed, uninsured cars and all other assets that are obtained/maintained under illegal SS#s, this will just keep going on.

Part of any congressional bill should be the notice that all illegal/misrepresented assets will be seized, and that if the SS#s involve fraud using someone ELSE'S SS#, the value of those assets are given to the victim, even if they are 10Xs the value.

If we are really serious about this we will also DEMAND our government start doing REAL accounting and auditing! Imagine that, efficient government? No more $700 hammers!

Great letter JD.

I might quibble however a bit on the use of "near treasonous" because in my mind it is treasonous. Somebody will have to convince me that what this pro-amnesty crowd is really not only suggesting but trying to force is a reunderstanding or redefining of American sovereignty and our way of life. Deemphasize American ideals and heroes for a more understanding and international outlook. That Globalism is inevitable. Amnesty if granted here will NEVER stop here. IMO This isn't naivety on the parts of many of our leaders who support this.
