BUSH SET FOR IMMIGRATION SPEECH WHITE HOUSE President Bush is getting set for a prime-time speech on Aides note the 8 p-m, Eastern Time, speech will be the president's first from the Oval Office that does not involve Iraq and the war on terrorism. And they say that reflects Bush's He's speaking as the Senate is poised to clear a compromise measure including his idea for a guest worker program. However, a rival House bill is limited to a border crackdown, and meshing the two won't be easy. Stand Up For America ! |

Oh, I BELIEVE you, JP! ...No QUESTION! ...Seems a LOT of us are frequently 'late to the party'.
1.) Speaking of which...I can't believe that first thread of yours, about the border-hopping students, only got 25 comments... ("When they came for the 'Americans', I didn't complain because I wasn't American." ...OH WAIT! I **AM** American...!!! NOW...this is 'SERIOUS'!!!")
2.) ....@#!*&! 'excerpt' rule!!! I see your post was mod-edited down and now, of course, Fox News has pulled down the article so that it is no longer available. Catch 22? ...It's enough to make someone think that...... (How do you spell... [redacted]...??? ...Drat! ...now where DID I misplace that trusty tinfoil... er... sombrero???!!!)
Thanks for what you're doing... and what you HAVE been doing!!! ...Maybe SOME of us 'sleepy-heads' will start catching a CLUE! ...hopefully, before it's too late!
ROFL!
(But, hey--he learned English!)
They know what is best for you. Trust them. /s

By LOLITA C. BALDOR
Associated Press Writer
WASHINGTON
The first wave of about 800 National Guard soldiers will head to the U.S-Mexico border as early as next week, including planners and leadership personnel who will stay longer than the planned 21-day missions, the National Guard chief told lawmakers Wednesday.
Lt. Gen. Steven Blum said 200 soldiers are preparing to go to each of the four border states _ California, Texas, Arizona and New Mexico _ around June 1. He said the initial troops will be part of a longer- term force of project managers who will stay on the job over time to provide continuity in the new border program.
