Bush set for immigration speech

BUSH SET FOR IMMIGRATION SPEECH

WHITE HOUSE President Bush is getting set for a prime-time speech on
immigration tomorrow night.

Aides note the 8 p-m, Eastern Time, speech will be the president's first from the Oval Office that does not involve Iraq and the war on terrorism. And they say that reflects Bush's
"passion" on immigration.

He's speaking as the Senate is poised to clear a compromise measure including his idea for a guest worker program. However, a rival House bill is limited to a border crackdown, and meshing the two won't be easy.

Stand Up For America !

"We have room for but one flag, the American flag...
We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...
And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Good point.

Side note: Nice to see our strong, enthusiastic troops last night but wasn't Evangeline Lilly weird? What is it with actresses?

Tomorrow, May 20 = Armed Forces Day

Also Sensenbrenner - author of the House Border Security Bill is head negotiator on the committee and has only yesterday vowed that NO Amnesty Bill would become law.

Where did you see this, do you have a link by any chance? I looked everywhere but couldn't find anything coming from House members yesterday regarding the Senate's bill so this is good news.

What should we expect from Kennedy? My quandry is trying to understand why our President holds Kennedy in such high esteem.

Pinging XenaLee over to this thread -- she is asking what we can do to stop this madness... can someone send her the link on the hands-across-the-borders plan?

"Thus the reason (I think) for much of the breakneck pace to shove Amnesty down our throats. No illegals no RICO."

Good to meet you Joe. (Background info if you aren't aware....here are posts relative to YOUR information, posted by Justpiper, prior to your arrival here)

1) JustPiper's post of your information:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1634221/posts?page=2#2

2) My thread started with your information:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1634221/posts

I found your information of great interest and have been doing additional research in order to find out the gravity of the consequences of RICO lawsuits against employers of illegal aliens, and to what extent that single issue might be driving the rush to pass immigration reform AND to determine if the RICO issue is specifically behind Bush's (and Senate) refusal to separate Border Control from Amnesty for illegals and their employers. His declaration that they are interdependent issues is nonsense, yet, imo purposeful.

In JustPipers copy of your information you stated, "The Senate 'Immigration' bill contains language providing 'amnesty' for prior acts by employers of illegal aliens. "

Do you have the specific wording from the Bill on this? Someone on my thread asked me about it. I've just been assuming that the'legalization of the illegals' would automatically make prosecution of the employers for hiring of 'illegals' more or less a non issue (amnesty for the employer). But if there is something specific in the Bill, can you advise?

In addition to the 'Big Businesses' that could be greatly affected by RICO laws, I was surprised to find, "Another predicate act that would make an employer liable under RICO is encouraging or inducing "an alien to come to, enter, or reside in the United States, knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that such coming to, entry, or residence is or will be in violation of law." This applies to those 'business' who have decided to recognize the matricula consular ID cards. Those cards are used by 800 local law enforcement agencies and 74 banks, as well as by 13 states for purposes of obtaining a driver’s license (and subsequently, voting via MotorVoting).

That means that AT RISK are not 'just' Mowhawk, Tyson & Purdue, or even Wal-Mart, but ALL banks who allow ILLEGALS to open bank accounts or for granting mortgages.

Anyway, I just wanted to ask that question, link you to the thread about your information, and to say that I think you hit the nail on the head on this. We are, imo, being blackmailed into accepting AMNESTY for ILLEGALS and their EMPLOYERS, in exchange for Border Security. Protection of those 'EMPLOYERS' /Banks/etc. from RICO lawsuits, by 'marrying' the two issues and refusing to separate them, is what's driving it the push and the RUSH to resolve a 20 year problem in just two weeks. IMO, RICO is the reason.

and visa versa.....I don't think I've heard dems, including Kennedy, give the President so much praise and it's odd for them to be on the 'same page'.

But they are simply, imo, using each other as tools to get what they want. They both want the same end result but for different reasons. Bush knows that Kennedy is probably the best person to drive this and boy has he. Remember that meeting a few weeks back when they were invited to the WH and dissenters weren't. Probably mapped out the strategy then.

I'm rather new to politics, but I've gotta tell you, I feel like I've entered the twilight zone.

Never paid a bit attention until '04 and I'm 49. I've been chiding myself these last few years over it. Now, I'm not sure which is worse, knowing or not knowing.

LMAO, is it always this way or is this just REALLY bad?

I did hear Sensenbrenner say words to the effect of what I wrote.

That's good news to hear then, lately it seems the only thing we're getting in print from the media is the Senate's bill is practically a done deal and it's just a matter of days now before it's law. Hastert is getting a lot of pressure from the WH too I'm sure so which way he goes will make all the difference but I'm betting he'll side with Sensenbrenner.

Joe Kovacs title Joe Kovacs
Stop illegal invasion: Put gators on border

The top stories in America this week are simply astounding.

First, illegal aliens continue to invade the United States seemingly at will, as our elected clowns (aka the president and Congress) remain gutless in their attempts to stem the tide. Gonads are apparently out of stock in Washington when it comes to deporting illegals and building a barrier along the entire southern border with Mexico.

Meanwhile, alligators are on the prowl in Florida, threatening anything that moves, from people to puppy dogs. As far as I can tell, the critters have no apparent new hatred for humans. They're just doing what comes naturally when encroached upon.

Both these problems have received plenty of media coverage, and have left much of America in a panic. So what's the nation to do? How can the republic survive? After about 10 seconds of deep thought, the answer is obvious.

Put the alligators on the border.

Yes, finally a solution that has some teeth. Lots and lots of teeth.

The new faces of U.S. Border Patrol agents?

Simply transplant a large sample of Florida's reptile populace (the meanest, nastiest looking buggers) along a path from Texas to California.

Let's just see how fast the illegal invaders "vamanos" when faced with the killer smiles of the four-legged American welcoming committee. Let's see if they still want to reclaim the Southwest if the new kids on the block want to have them over for dinner, or dessert.

Watch the flood of human traffic into America evaporate, as you can bet many Mexicans will be making a new run for the border – the border with Guatemala, that is.

Florida residents will breathe a sigh of relief, knowing the chances of encountering a giant reptile on the shuffleboard court or by the pool while sipping morning coffee or juice in their underwear will be greatly reduced.

Animal-rights activists might even be thankful that many of these so-called "nuisance gators" will no longer be rounded up for slaughter. They will merely be drafted for a new, patriotic mission: to proudly serve the nation that has served their thriving population for so long.

No more exploitation by tourists at gator parks. No more marshmallows tossed by airboat operators.

Of course, this brilliant idea does entail some bold challenges, such as evacuating hundreds of swamp-dwelling creatures in an orderly fashion. Why not employ New Orleans Mayor Ray "Chocolate" Nagin who still has dozens of moisture-packed school buses at his disposal?

Where would the gators reside? The Rio Grande already serves as a natural moat along much of the border. It could then be extended with a little digging project, a task much easier than construction of a giant wall.

Who could dig it? Why not tap illegal aliens? They love to do the work Americans supposedly don't wish to do, at a bargain rate no less.

But I have a feeling this is one job for which Americans would actually rush to pick up a shovel, and dig with a big, toothy grin.

Sometimes both are good and bad,... if you have friends who are liberals and you are a conservative, for example, makes for uncomfortable conversations, if you have friends who don't care and don't vote and you are passionate about the matter you begin to thank God for FR so you can vent your passion without chasing off all your friends....

You got it Lion , also someone here has been saying this now it seems to be uncovered as a popular explanation:

Rev. Brian Bonner D.D.
http://uncooperativeblogger.com

I have mentioned that President Bush's behavior can only be explained if he was a "One Worlder" or Globalist. This one is going to make you really angry, because our government is planning to sell our country's sovereignty down the river. This is something that needs to be read by
all Americans!

President Bush is following a plan laid out in a 2005 report entitled “Building a North American Community” published by the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). The CFR report was commissioned to study the Bush administration’s actual policy on illegal immigration and the drive to create the North American Union. From said report:
