BUSH SET FOR IMMIGRATION SPEECH WHITE HOUSE President Bush is getting set for a prime-time speech on Aides note the 8 p-m, Eastern Time, speech will be the president's first from the Oval Office that does not involve Iraq and the war on terrorism. And they say that reflects Bush's He's speaking as the Senate is poised to clear a compromise measure including his idea for a guest worker program. However, a rival House bill is limited to a border crackdown, and meshing the two won't be easy. Stand Up For America ! |

HARRY REID just accused Inhoff's request to make ENGLISH the national language.....RACIST!!!!!
~LOL~ Good one dita.
I read a letter to the editor yesterday from the Modesto Bee -- the author said: The GOP needs to re-read the Treaty of Guadalup Hidalgo because it says we have to use Spanish and English in this country.... I've read that treaty a couple of times, I swear I've never seen that ammendment in there. Can someone point me to it?
It's been FIVE years you already waited!!!
The 'only' Sweeping going on is what they are doing hiding the truth under their Lies!

HARRY REID just accused Inhoff's request to make ENGLISH the national language.....RACIST!!!!!
Can he sink any lower?! You have stunned me silent!
I started doing that last year when Durbin uttered his traitorous slander against our troops who guard Guantanamo. I phoned nearly every Senator calling for his expulsion, based on his violation of oath.
Now, a majority of them are doing it.
When our language is endangered, it's a signal to our country.
Can't say about Reid here, maybe Savage will say it for me.

SENATE KILLS ENSIGN AMENDMENT
By Michelle Malkin · May 18
To qualify for full Social Security benefits, a worker must register 10 years of work. Under current law, illegal immigrants who obtain legal status can use their previous illegal work history to apply for Social Security benefits.
A compromise immigration bill pending right now in the U.S. Senate (sponsored by Chuck Hagel (R-NE) and Mel Martinez (R-FL)) comes at a time when our nation is facing an enormous crisis on the entitlements front. A recent report moved the year in which Social Security will go broke from 2041 to 2040. Congress cannot afford to keep the promise of Social Security to its own citizens, let alone illegal workers.
To remedy the situation, Sen. John Ensign (R-NV) has offered an amendment to the pending Senate immigration bill that would reverse this law to ensure that law-breakers are not rewarded for their past work at the expense of immigrants who have waited in line and American citizens.
Am getting word that the Ensign amendment, SA 3985, was killed this afternoon.
The Senate's march towards Amnesty First, Enforcement Later (Never?) goes on.

Illegal alien activists secured a protest permit in Washington, D.C., for their ballyhooed May 17 Amnesty Rally yesterday. They expected 100,000 people to come.
Only 400 showed up.

WashPost Plays Up New Illegal-Alien Protest, Complete With Flag Photos In Color

Last week, the Minutemen came to town to protest illegal immigration, but The Washington Post shunned them to the inside of the Metro section, to page B-3. Their crowd was estimated at just 150. On Wednesday, the pro-illegal immigration advocates came to Capitol Hill again, and the Post estimated the gathering at about 400. That's also what you might call an inside-the-Metro-section crowd.

Immigration Bill Debate Stuck on 'Amnesty'
A broad bill letting illegal immigrants stay in the United States is clearing hurdle after hurdle toward Senate passage next week as House Republicans turn against President Bush and dig in their heels against what they deride as "amnesty" for millions of lawbreakers.
Supporters deflected an assault on what is considered the heart of the bill _ a plan to grant millions of illegal immigrants a path to citizenship _ while accepting conservatives' calls for hundreds of miles of new fencing along the U.S.-Mexican border.
