OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - Sen. Barbara Boxer told Mills College graduates on Saturday that the United States needs to begin pulling troops out of Iraq this year.
"We went to Iraq on false pretenses, and we're staying there on false hopes - false hopes that our military can solve the age-old problems there between ethnic groups," said Boxer, D-Calif. "The Iraqi people simply have to want democracy and freedom as much as we want it for them. And I want an exit strategy."

She also warned graduates of the challenges they will face in the future, including protecting privacy rights from government abuse, the threat to abortion rights, the genocide in Sudan and global warming.

On another thread, it was reported Murtha did the same thing at another college commencement, and got boos and catcalls from the audience. At Mills College, however, the grads probably fell to their knees and kissed the hem of that doofus Boxer's robe. Boxer is truly the stupidest person in the world. I'm ashamed California keeps electing that dimwit.
All the lefties are doing it! I'm sure she didn't want to feel out of touch with her party. They have no shame.

As usual, Boxer and those like her don't get it. She is only able to speak as freely as she does because our forefathers and the many American citizens did so following them.

Good point, but considering Mills is an all women's college, perhaps focusing on the plight of women around the world would have been more appropriate. Oh wait, that would include discussing helping women oppressed in Islamic nations...
Mills might be comprised of mostly lefties but there are conservative women there too whose day was surely wrecked by such divisive, inappropriate rhetoric for a graduation ceremony.
Too bad the voters don't pull Boxer out of the Senate. That would do more to help this country than anything else except getting Pelosi and Feinstein out as well.
Isn't Boxer aware of the House vote, what was it...403-2, something like that...only a few months ago to STAY IN IRAQ until the mission is done? Is it Bush's fault that almost ALL OF THE HOUSE voted to stay?
