Geoff Monsour, of Latrobe, makes a point to U.S. Rep. John P. Murtha following his graduation ceremony at Seton Hill University in Greensburg on Saturday. Monsour, a Marine, disagrees with Murtha's stance on the war in Iraq and his decision to speak about political issues during his graduation ceremony. Monsour graduated with a bachelor of science degree in business.

The catcalls prompted shouts from other audience members that Murtha should be allowed to speak. Catcalls that Ann Coulter, Dinesh D'Souza, and David Horowitz know all to well.

It's a free country and Murtha has the right to his views on the Iraq War, but this was not the appropirate time or place to bring them up.

Did Murtha again call for redploying the troops to Okinawa, so they could keep an eye on Tojo?

Good for the Marine! Not too long ago the conservative dissenting voices were never heard. Now they are on every campus and getting stronger. I have real hope for the future of our country!

Later, he dismissed the heckling as of no great consequence. It does amaze me that twits like Murtha are elected and do get to foist their completely wrong opinions on innocent people in in a public forum.
How many times do Democrats need to open their mouths before each and every one of us realizes there really is no greater danger.

This worth repeating, IMHO.
"If you want anything done on the committee, you go to Murtha."
He's delivered so much pork to his congressional district, an airport and a major highway are named after Murtha.
Ashdown and his nonpartisan watchdog group criticized Murtha for using the $417 billion fiscal 2005 Pentagon spending bill to give business to his lobbyist brother.
The Los Angeles Times in June reported that Murtha funneled nearly $21 million to 10 or more corporate clients of KSA Consulting, where Robert "Kit" Murtha is a senior partner.
Carmen Scialabba, a Murtha congressional aide for 27 years, is also a high-ranking official at KSA.

One student, on his way to get his diploma, told the congressman that graduation was not the place to air the war issue, Murtha said I couldn't agree with the student more, it was not an appropriate venue.
It is encouraging that some of his constituents are speaking up against him and his war stance, it's a good omen for Diana Irey.

Considering the vapid comments and platitudes that often make up commencement speeches,
I wholeheartedly support speeches directed toward an Important and Enduring Issue, such as War and Peace.
Murtha's liberal claptrap was likely a poor attempt at addressing an important issue, but the subject matter wasn't the problem.

Murtha knows that Monsour, a Marine, disagrees agrees completely with Murtha's stance on the war in Iraq and his decision to speak about political issues during his graduation ceremony but, like most marines Murtha has talked to, and like all general officers, can't admit to this publicly.
