I can recall Clinton signalling during the 1992 election that he would treat Haitian refugees differently hinting that we would accept them as politial asylum seekers. After he was elected and before he was sworn in, there was frenzied boat building activity in Haiti anticipating a flotilla of refugees landing in Florida. Clinton backed down and sent troops to Haiti, not so much to get rid of a despotic govenment, but to remove the pretext for Haitians coming to the US for political asylum.
Remember that Rose Perot's theme song was Crazy...
He's been keeping a low profile for a long time. Haven't seen a word about him in the Dallas papers.
Maybe he contented himself with defeating his mortal enemy, George I, and setting up 8 years of Clinton.
Nobody will tell me, or nobody knows, what the feud between Bush I and Perot was about.
I knew that when I saw it --- and therein lies the problem: by the time it's corrected a lot of people have the wrong information..
That is good news about Brian Wilson(moose) being chairman of the Radio/Television C.Assn. Perhaps we could talk him into doing Tony's old Radio gig on Fox Radio.
Juan made a similar statement this morning.
Y'welcome... when I first read that "Gibson was against Levin" I thought WHAT?! lol
Where are they getting that !!!!!!! I have Chris Wallace on right now, will listen to see how Juan tries to spin it.
I belive it's CAMPI. As in camp-eye! lol
Newt is all done. He will not be a serious candidate in 2008. He too much talking head, not enough leader to win a Republican Primary. Republicans do NOT reward phoniness in their leaders. Better a heartfelt unpopular position then mindlessly regurgitating a popular Junk Media talking point if you are a Republican candidate.
Totally!!!
I certainly misspoke, thanks for the help.
I'm not sure anyone knows what the Bush41/Perot feud was about. I seem to recall Perot whining about his daughter's wedding being infiltrated (or something) by Republican spies... it was reall nutball stuff.
That would work, I really like "Moose."
Supposedly, he likes some of what she has done for NY. He is having a fund-raiser for her.
You are too much snugs! It's going to be a fun day. Having a get together with Mom and the family this afternoon.
Neat Mother's day!
I hope everyone remembers this in '08 when Hillary pulls out the same old playbook.
Well said.
Last evening I went to a couple of shops to do some errands. While walking through the aisles of Walmart- I heard MORE Spanish being spoken than English. Everywhere- from the clerks and stockers to the customers. I'm always tempted to stop and ask them- why don't you speak English? Why did you come to America? But I'm a gutless wonder, and so I never say anything.
I have several Hispanic neighbors who seem like "nice people"...well-behaved kids, always smiling and happy. I have never heard them speak a word of English.
OT:
I am upset.
My sister sent me a copy of Oprah's magazine, "O" as part of a Mother's Day gift. She says she reads it cover to cover...barf!
In her e-mail this morning, she talked about how she watches "The View" each morning...barf!
THEN, she went on to quote Eve Enseler (sp?) the author of "The Vagina Monologues"...and how she has learned so much about accepting who she is and not letting outside pressures control her decisions about herself...double barf!
Disturbing! Sooooo close to home...all this liberalism...I thought she was more conservative...apparently not.
