"Chris Matthews just asked if an Uncle Walter can be replaced with an Aunt Katie"

I think, for Chris Matthews, an "uncle walter" and an "aunt katy" are acts between consenting adults.

The Contract With America consisted of specific legislation the Republicans would bring up for a vote. Promises made, promises kept.

It will be interesting to see what specifics the Democrat believe will get voters to support them. Hating Bush or cut and run out of Iraq do not seem to fit that model.

Chrissy is used to mourning elections. He just never thought The Leftwing would be one.

The Dems scream about voter fraud and "disenfranchisment", but scream even louder about requiring photo ID. I heard one congress, er, person claim that photo ID was discriminatory because Blacks and minorities cant afford them or dont have the documents to get one. So-no ID for illegals to vote on the basis that its discrimintory, but the republicans are the dishonest ones..

Newt was awesome on MTP, he probably ruined little Timmy's day

He was and he clearly did. Timmy was outfoxed and he knew it. His teeth were clenched all the way through to the end of the program. Bwahahahah.

My guess is that they will choose pocketbook issues which Americans don't understand too well:

1. Lower gas prices through federal price controls.

2. Raise the minimum wage.

3. "Reform" of social security by increasing FICA deductions.

4. Mandatory health insurance.

Mary Cheney is very impressive, but I found her her response to the Stanley Kurtz quote less so.

There's no principled reason why Gay marriage/adoption should be allowed that doesn't apply to polygamy/polyamory as well--- that same sex marriages are between two people and the others are between more is simply to describe them, not to give a reason why they should be treated differently.

Still, it's ultra-admirable that she put the country ahead of herself... Looked ver nice today as well.

Great post SC. You gotta hear this, fat tim just asked Newt:

Should the blogs, the internet, talk radio some t.v.nets, lower their rhetoric, tell them to tone it down a little.

Newt ducked the question(wisely) but we now know that we are getting to fat Tim, he knows he's under the radar scope and we are zeroing our forces in on him!!

Too bad tim we won't shut up,ever!!

Well said Johnnie, it is what drives us supporters crazy. The continual superiority of the walk on water Conservatives. Most would rather criticize than roll up their sleves and do something about an issue.

The Dems scream about voter fraud and "disenfranchisment", but scream even louder about requiring photo ID.

They have lost a lot of their influence with the courts. They are going to have to resort to their old tactics of outright fraud to sway elections.

Legitimate elections are an anathema to the Democratic Party.

That the Dems will come out with their own around Labor Day called "The Plan"

The Plan? That oughta be good. The only plan the Dems have for November is impeachment and troop withdrawal. And announcing the new SECDEF for a Dem admin in 2008-Cindy Sheehan..

It really was pathetic the way Matthews was saying how he wished the real West Wing was like the show .. and then he mention when he worked for Carter *L*

Now is the time for all good men and women
to come to the aid of our country
and show support for our service men and women.

You do not have to be in DC to show support for the Troops.

Visit your local military base today and at least once a week.

Or a military or veteran hospital.

If you can't do that then send an e-mail or package
to our troops for morale support.

Proud Patriots -
Sending care packages,
e-mails, and snail mail
to US Military worldwide.

http://www.proudpatriots.org

We need coast to coast support for the troops, now, more than ever.

This proves my point. Each item you list advances socialism and more government. Price controls don't work, and are destructive to the economy. Minimum wage is a non issue for the majority of Americans. Raising taxes for social security is not going to get much support. Finally, mandatory health insurance will further distance voters from their party.

Sure hope they go through with this so voters will learn more about what Democrats stand for.

Dems will have a PLAN you say? Kerry had a PLAN too. Remember? Trouble was, he wouldn't reveal it UNTIL he was elected.

Well, I have a PLAN: I PLAN to vote Republican (even tho I certainly don't agree w/every single thing Reps. do. The thought of Dems in power again is just too much to even think about. Dem John Conyers as Chairman of the Judicial Committee? NOOOOOOOOOOO Waaaaaaaaaaaay.

If the Senate version of the immigration bill passes and is signed into law, we could have 30-50 million illegal aliens becoming U.S. citizens. It would totally erase the border between US and Mexico and turn us into a Third-World country. I would say the country's pretty much over if that happens.

Everything you list would raise interest rates (even more) and put a huge damper on the economy.
