Gov. Mitt Romney flirted with abolishing a state advisory commission on gay youth for promoting a parade featuring a crossdressing master of ceremonies and embracing transgender teens, a spokesman said Friday.
Initially, Romney spokesman Eric Fehrnstrom said the governor, who signed a proclamation hailing a similar parade in 2003, considering killing the Gov.'s Commission on Gay and Lesbian Youth because the parade press release was issued without the administration's blessing.
On Friday, Fehrnstrom expanded on that explanation.
"This year what was brought to our attention was a press release that was not authorized by this office but which went out on state letterhead promoting a parade that was hosted by a crossdresser and celebrating, among other things, transgenderism," he said, adding Romney has instructed the commission to refocus on its core mission of suicide prevention.

So he thinks they should find a transgender that doesn't crossdress?
Mitt Romney, man of courage.
Too Late.
He will be forever known as "Brokeback Mitt" from now on.
Tee Hee!!!!!!!!
Be sure to let Matt Drudge know about this development.
And people say he has 0% chance of being the 08 Republican nominee. Don't you just love it when RINO's flirt with gay groups.
Drudge recieved notice just now.
...why IS there a state advisory commission on gay youth?
Matt Drudge is homosexual himself, evidently, although he has never played an activist part. But I suspect it may explain his constant enmity toward President Bush. Bush has NOT been anti-homosexual at any time, but he still is mistrusted by most of them, evidently, and Drudge obviously dislikes him.
I say this because some of clinton's Spinmeisters attacked Drudge by accusing him of kinky behavior, back in the Monica days, evidently hoping to get him in trouble with conservatives and destroy his reputation. Matt posted the clintonoid comments on his website and said, more or less, "So what?"
I don't say this to knock Drudge. As long as it doesn't influence his reporting in a political way, I also say, "So what?" But it's something to keep in mind. And I do suspect it has influenced his reporting on Bush.
Recruitment. Mitt was promoting it until he finally figured out that it wasn't going to help him in the southern primaries. Now it's time for a flip-flop but he doesn't want to alienate his liberal democratic base.
What's a RINO to do when he runs into this kind of problem? "Flirt", I suppose
"STATE ADVISORY COMMISSION ON GAY YOUTH"????
There's your Massachusettes tax dollars at work. Yeah!!!
Did'nt know about any of this about Drudge. He's barely tolerant of Bush and that's easy to hear on his Sunday radio show. He seems a little "Hollywood" but not so it's noticeable...at least to me.
He's still the perfect foil for the loathsome, self congratulating MSM and I am grateful for his courage on that point.
His schnauzzy, in your face confrontation before the Wash.DC Press Club was priceless and took more courage than most men can muster.
Walter Winchill he's not. But he's the best we got.
A Romney administration would be no different than the current Bush administration on these matters.
Find a real issue. Making one up like this shows desperation on your part.
I didn't mention it to knock Drudge. He takes a legitimate interest in reporting the latest news stories touching on LGBT matters, but doesn't noticeably push any agendas.
But his dislike for Bush has been evident from the first, when he helped push all those faked stories about Bush's youthful misbehavior during the 2000 campaign. When that lying biography of Bush was published, he kept posting charges against Bush from it even after the publisher withdrew it and apologized.
I suspect it's because he mislikes Evangelicals, and Bush is very open about his Christian beliefs. But I don't know for sure.
Let that "Gay Advisory Board" stuff sink in.
Mass is in deep trouble on almost everything they do...from Free Speech Christy Mihos...to the blustering drunk "Elephant in the Kennedy living room" ...to "Brokeback Mitt".
Small wonder it won't be in the remake of "America the Beautiful".
And they look down their noses at California, Hah!
Not with a squeeze like Ann Coulter.
Ever wonder why she always happens to be around to be on his radio show?
For that matter, "in the bunker" with her on his TV show?
His website the first to have ads or excepts from her books?
Her accompanying him to the National Press Association dinner a few years back when he spoke there?
Their appearance together in People Magazine when she was last on the cover?
The two of them holding the elevator door for my wife and I was the clincher. We spoke in German, acting like tourists unaware of them and who they are. The small talk between them showed they have been an item for quite a while.
Find a real candidate! He's a cotton candy fluff ball in an empty suit.
"Find a real issue. Making one up like this shows desperation on your part."
Touchy, touchy!
Sorry. But there's no "there" there.
A Romney administration would not be a gay administration. It would not be a Mormon administration. It would be a robust and powerful wealth-creating administration.
Addams Family Values.
Massachusetts is becoming one large bird cage.
I think a Romney-Allen ticket is just the ticket for keeping the White House in competent Republican hands for sixteen more years.
