"Sure he will. "We'll put the Guard on the border, and give amnesty to everyone who are here or can get in before we deploy."
I think you hit it right on the head my friend . I don't see him calling for ammesty and kissing fox's ass all year and then sending the gaurd down there . Something don't add up for me here.

President Bush's guest worker program is nothing more than a gigantic social program funded by taxpayers.
If I wasn't paying so much for all the social programs maybe I could afford a bottle of wine and some cheese. ;)

But you have a long and deep history of acting like a complete jerkYer tellin' lies again...AND, the only people acting disrespectful are the open borders, Bush is a god crowd...The worse thing I have ever said to you was to call you a Party dweller...You certainly can't make the same claim for yourself...
However, I believe this is the first thread where you have ever supported the anti-illegal stance...Are flip flopping right along with Bush???

You are so petty. Typical female.Well.......it didn't take much to get you to reveal your true 'character' now did it?
As for the rest of your post, silly boy...............maybe you should have found out my position on illegals before you made a complete fool of yourself. LOL!
(I sure pegged YOU right from the get go, though. You're here to cause trouble. Nothing else).

Well then, BRO, I'm not talking about YOU, am I? Understand?
What's up with these weird personal reactions? Can't you discuss something rationally? The plain fact is that the vast majority of posters who oppose Bush's handling of border enforcement, contrary to your belief that they are perpetual whiners/trolls, are long-time GOP stalwarts. He better listen to his base, or he'll be listening to a Dem House reading him the Articles next year.
Sadly, you are right. I worked for GWB's campaign twice --- spent hours and hours on the phone as well as canvassing neighborhoods. I loved him and felt he was the closest thing to Ronald Reagan we could get. This immigraton debacle has been a huge disappointment as has his inability to defend his own policies. Yet, I still support him as CIC and I hope he says all of the right things on Monday night in order to save his presidency.
Securing the border is a welcome first step in getting back on track.
To: Owen
Appreciate the reasoning, however most of these border folks act like this issue came up over night and is all Bush's fault. Never mind the folks not enforcing their own local laws, never mind it all started with Reagan years ago, never mind what or how to get rid of all the illegals. Its all Bush's fault and though this was an issue 2 years ago, 4 years ago, TODAY IT'S AN EMERGENCY or else!!!
As usual reactionary conservatives eating their own because of their so-called "principles".

Oh..........didn't even get to your second paragraph. LOL
I've had exactly the same stance on illegals for, oh, say, about five years. I've just avoided most of the threads until the jerks were gone........(no one in particular in mind, of course).
NOW you can leave me alone. :)

If Mexico could not hurt our economy by selling its oil elsewhere as a blackmail tactic, there is opportunity to get tough with our border policy.
I have heard talk about putting a stop to Western Union (and others) money transfers into Mexico. That would stop the money flow into Mexico and give less incentive for one to work in the United States.
We cannot go too fast with the deportation effort. There are employers who have become dependent on these workers. You wouldn't want them moving their operations into Mexico.
To: Peach
Troops on the border will be great, but it cannot be a long-term fix. The border needs to be secured long-term before any plan to deal with illegals will work. If the plan is to build a major fence/wall/barrier on the border while the troops temporarily secure the border, that would work.
Please check into the border issues, until you have a better understanding of the issues before simply dismissing those of us who support securing the borders. Please find out why we are angry, find out the truth about what is happening. Peach you know many of us from other threads over the years- we have not suddenly lost our mind as you seem to think.
I know you have great curiousosity and I know you are fair when you have all the facts. Please find out WHY we feel the way we do. Search my posts back quite a ways, you will find info there that will help you look into this more. When you search my posts, see what I was replying to if it is not obvious. Peach I have lived on the Mexican border for over 30 years, I worked for Customs and Border Protection for 10 years. I am a solid Republican, I totally supported President Bush, yet I am angry right now at Republican leadership and the Bush Administration over the border issues. Please take the time to find out why, instead of just coming on these threads and dismissing what we have to say out of hand.

Design, Shmisign. They ALREADY KNOW how to lay bricks and mortar!.......... Hell yes, they have already sucked up probably half of the bricklayer jobs. Make them build it using Arpaio's tent camp method and 2 15 cent a day bologna sandwich meals. When it's done, chuck em over the damned thing.

And just how long can the over stretched National Guard provide enough troops to cover the long Border with Mexico?
My Nephew in the Texas NG has been on active duty 2 out of the last 3 years and is currently deploying to Iraq.
They should be deploying to the Rio Grande instead of the Tigris or Euphorates.
These guys cannot guard both the Iraq and U.S. borders. They have civilian jobs and families to support and mortgages, etc. to pay and cannot stay deployed indefinitely. If this crap keeps up it's going to be hello to the draft or one Helluva big pay raise to the NG.

I have documentation that shows what illegals are costing. NET!<<
If it's handy and not a lot of trouble I'd be interested in seeing that sometime.
