1) Slavery is not permitted in the US. Captured illegals cannot be forced to build a fence as part of any sentencing -- regardless of the zero probability of this sort of thing surviving a "cruel and unusual punishment" challenge. When someone first suggested this, I wanted to add: "Yeah, and if the illegals give us any lip, we'll make them make bricks without straw!"

Kudos to you for scoring the George W. Bush username back in 1999. Now that's foresight.

I'll believe it when I see it. I'm hoping and praying but I am not gonna hold my breath. This would be a 180 on his current position on the border. And he ain't the revering type.

To: xjcsa
Now that the "Border Patrol" has become an escort service for the illegal aliens, this might be a good idea.

Not to speak against the numbers, because facts are facts, but I wish I could also see the numbers on how many were let into the country under BJ without proper background checks done? (Of course, they had the important required Voter Registration appliaction with the Democrat box checked off).

He's been TRYING to do something for over two years. Such as meeting with Harry Reid instead of John Cornyn to get the amnesty/guest worker bill through the Senate?
Stop trashing HIM and work on your congress people. They're the ones angling for votes.
The House has done something. They passed a security/enforcement first bill. Funny how Bush wasn't meeting with the Senators who wanted a Senate version of that bill.
If Bush is on-board with border security, I'll be thrilled. But quit pretending he's been leading the parade for two years.

We have expelled over 6 million since bush took office - I realize that's not enough for you, but I am just answering your question.

Actually, I'd have given it up long ago but 1) my signup date is on it and 2) it P.O.'s all the right people.

If I were the President, here is what I'll do.
Put the National Guard on the border.
Use illegal labor to construct the "Great Wall of America".
After the wall is constructed, give amnesty to all illegals already in USA.
Not a perfect solution but it's the best we can do, IMHO.

With Bush and the border security, I think it's just for a temporary show and total BS. He hasn't cared at all. Why start now?
To: xjcsa
This would be a good thing. Secure the border first.

They're already IN my state; my Democratically led legislature is the one that gave them driver's licenses, remember? You think not supporting the president is going to fix that? Only if he actually secures the border and drops his and Billy Bubba Frist/Reid amnesty program will I support him on this matter. At this point in time DEEDS speak louder than empty words and have more credibility.
Oh BTW yea our state gave out drivers license to illegals also until we got rid of the RINO governor.
