Got a screenshot of it. Notice how the two, unrelated, news stories are placed next to each other to make it seem as if "Stocks tumble BECAUSE OF the tax cuts."

Your interpretation is a stretch. There's a clear delineation between the two stories.

Nice how they're arranged side by side...A coincidence?

Especially since the vote didn't occur until after the market closed.

CNN. Brought to you courtesy of the DNC.

I don't think it is a stretch...
As on television...nothing is shown by accident. There is some thought put into everything that is shown.
With anything they could have put there, I don't think it is coincindence. But that is just my opinion.

Yes, they put a "|" between them. But why put them on the same line? They don't do that for any of the other stories. And why for these two? It's simple, they want to create an association in people's minds.

Well, it would follow that if the corporate parent of CNN paid more taxes [say, made a big voluntary contribution to the Treasury, above and beyond the regular tax due] its stock would immediately and dramatically rise. It is mind-boggling that the corporate directors have not yet hit on this simple expedient to float their stock options above the water.

"Your interpretation is a stretch. There's a clear delineation between the two stories." They are on the same bullet on the page, and it's ridiculous.

Well I can't see CNN execs sitting around a board room discussing the placement of two factoids. Maybe whoever did the layout thought about this and might have done it to create an impression. But CNN doesn't have to bother resorting to such subtle deception, they are just blatently biased.

Reporters at CNN are stupid enough to think that the market fell because congress cut tax rates. Actually, congress EXTENDED the expiration of Bush's tax cuts but it's too much to expect accuracy from the dolts in the MSM.

This may give a few geeks and political junkies at CNN a thrill, but no one else gives a rat's patootie.
It's like those games that cartoonists traditionally play, slipping single-frame lewd images or politically charged images into a kids cartoon. No one notices, but the cartoonists get aroused anyway.
If it means anything, it means that they feel politically marginalized and desperate.

CNN.com's website has begun to obscure the market numbers with a stock quote search window. You have to click to see the market level now, at least until there is a substantial drop.

Why wouldn't CNN blame this on the continual leaking of information again by the left in the new telephone # story.
