This is clearly intended to keep Rats in power as much as possible, and as a signal to other Republican who try to govern, rather than just hold office and suck their thumbs and fill the potholes.

.....and in other news......

Donald Rumsfeld was indicted Thursday for his role in the unfair discrimination against muslim Al-Qaeda. The US Military has unfairly targeted muslims in their effort to win the War on Terror.

"This is an outrage," chairman Dean exclaimed earlier that day. "How can we win the hearts and behinds of zealots if we continue this behaviour?"

This same grand jury indicted the 2nd District GOP Chairman for political discrimination. He does not hold any office in the government - he's a private practicing attorney and had no authority to hire or fire anyone. What prompted the indictment? He sent e-mails to the government recommending people for jobs. The judge dismissed the charges immediately without trial.

Nice pair of posts, with the links on the "goods" on Stumbo.

I'll use those, if the Dems on a neutral forum I'm on bring up this prosecution. Thanks.

My FIL is from E-town, has been involved in small-town KY Republican politics for decades. I can just imagine what he'll have to say about this.

Who's the head of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board, Jim Tollbooth?

ROFLMAO.

Could we see a Beverage/Tollbooth ticket in the near future in the Blue Grass State?

cliff notes version:

Fletcher is R, AG is D. Someone, I forget who gets fired from his position and files a complaint saying it was because he was a Democrat. AG investigates and then starts Grand Jury because he thinks it's bigger than one guy. Gov Fletcher pardons anyone the GJ my indict (except himself). This doesn't stop AG from indicting people though (even though they were already pardoned).

The "merit" thing is like the civil servant positions with the feds that can't be fired with the changing of partisans (like Mary McCarthy). The conspiracy is that Gov Fletcher was working to get Republicans hired/Dems fired. And to top it off, he/they were sloppy about it leaving email trails.

I don't disagree with what he did. Hell if I was a politician I'd fire every Democrat that looked at me cross-eyed, but in KY I suppose it's against the law (probably because some Dem already tried it before. LOL)

Thanks for that. I really had no idea what was going on. I agree with your sentiments. I wish they had not left a paper trail...that is not good. I see no problem with replacing people who are actively working against you.

Keep us posted. Thanks.

Huh?

Me too.

I expect it's something about hiring a less-qualified Republican over some more-qualified Dim. The Dim then ran to his party and they brought in the trial lawyers.

Grady Stumbo and daughter are from Winchester, Greg is from Prestonburg.

Are you sure about that? I was pretty sure that Grady was from Hindman.

Politial discrimination. Isn't that what Bill and Hill did when they fired all the federal attorneys the minute they took office?

I don't know where you live but here in western NY - the most depressed area in the whole of the US - the malaise is palpable. We live with hiliary, schumer, and NYC - the most liberal place on earth.

It doesn't get any worse.
