***** That's BS. Maybe technology stocks, but if you don't think technology is advancing, you're asleep at the switch. *****

Speaking of switches, I think your sarcasm detector is turned off. =P

I'm about to graduate with a BSME at The University of Texas. I know where technology stands, and it is NOT a bleak future.

Yeah it sucks all those American exports that will be more price competitive now.

Yeah, and it also makes that 2 billion a day the government is borrowing to stay afloat much easier to pay off in the long run!

Don't be surprised if it DOESN'T get reported.

Just like the Old Media don't report that the number of American soldiers and Marines killed in Iraq has decreased each month for the last six months. They're not interested in good (for the country) news.

Not to appear as if I am wearing a tinfoil hat but...

This is the type of thing which drives the terrorists crazy, seeing our economy doing well. We are overdue for another attack on the US mainland. I worry about economic targets which if hit could cripple this country.

You know I can only get away with jokes like that because of my FR registration date....

I regret so much that I didn't discover FR until last year. I missed so many great threads!

Yep, judging from that chart, privatizing Social Security and allowing us to manage our own retirement funds would be a "risky tax scheme". /sarc

Yup, those tax cuts are a disaster. Full employment, 4.8% economic growth, 5.2 million jobs created since 9-11, the Dow at its second highest ever close.

Yeah, those genius history professors (who were just polled) and the staff at Rolling Stone and Barbra Streisand and Al Franken, et. al., are right: Bush really IS the worst president ever! /sarc

I try and close my sarcasm tags, myself....

remember when inflation was double digit?....remember when you couldn't buy a decent calculator for much under $100 ?.....how about...remember when vcr's and microwaves and cell phones were luxuries only the upper classes could afford?.....

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Yep, I remember all that, I also remember when minimum wage was $1.25 and that would buy lunch for two with change left. I also remember when $10,000. bought a decent new house and lot. I also remember buying a new V-8 Mustang for $3000.00. I also remember my father being very angry because the electric bill went over $8. one month. I also remember when most families in my area owned at least forty acres of land. I also remember when if someone had possessions you could expect that they were paid for.
