The Judicial Hearing on the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to a circuit judge is playing on C-SPAN 3
Fireworks upcoming. Kavanauh just took oath. Specter introducing family and other formalities.
Kavanaugh speaking, Specter joking.
I heard that they want this and other nominees voted on by Memorial Day...(probably because they know Bush could give them all recess appointments after that)
marking thread for later read
Don't know how you can listen to that guy...
Frist for sure wants the vote by Memorial Day. I don't think Bush will go the recess route if not by then.
I think the Democrats position is to delay, delay, delay in voting on anymore judges.
I think Kavanaugh will be voted and confirmed but the Democrats would just love to postpone any others until after November in hopes they would be in majority.
How many of Bush's judges does one think would be brought forth with a Democrat in charge of the Judiciary committee. Would that not be that clown from Michigan, what's his name, that has impeachment on the brain?
Only in small doses...sometimes not even that.
John CONyers (D-MI)
All these "no Mr. Chairman" questions will be asked over and over by them dems.
CSPAN Senate is showing a healthcare debate. ??????????????
Sounds like Specter asked a question he didn't know the answer to in regards to signing statements, though.
There's the opening the Dems needed.
C-SPAN 3 is the only C-SPAN carrying it live. Computer only for me.
There's one line of questioning we'll hear over and over: signing statements. YOU TOLD THE PRESIDENT HE COULD IGNORE THE LAW, RIGHT!
Schmuck asking how he'd vote in THE CLINTON IMPEACHMENT!
Kavanaugh isn't handling himself particularly well.
Schumer has a plan, Kavanaugh isn't dealing with it.
Old Chuckie is broadsiding with "unanswered" questions from the first hearing.
Bring up Rove, Roe V Wade, Starr, blah, blah, blah, blah.
This committee vote is going to be 10-8 regardless how Kavanaugh handles himself.
No one's mind is going to be changed.
I think he could answer that he doesn't know. He wasn't looking at it from the point of view of a legislator and, not being one, he couldn't have.
Schmuck asking him FOR HIS OWN OPINION on Roe V Wade.
