LOS ANGELES — The U.S. Border Patrol is alerting the Mexican government to the locations of civilian border patrol groups when the organizations help detain suspected illegal immigrants or use violence against them, according to a published report.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesman Mario Martinez told the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin of Ontario that the policy is meant to assure the Mexican government that migrants' rights are being observed.

Actually, you are the one who is ill-informed

A Mexican telling a liberal press Bush is helping illegals cross, and FReepers are outraged by it?
Right now, the press knows it's working, and they're spamming everything they can think of to outrage the base.
It appears many here are falling for it. The press is doing a good job with their propaganda this time.
I'm disappointed the FReepers can't see this manipulation going on. Just yesterday, most of the articles about Bush were "See how Republicans hate their base" articles, and yes, the FReepers agreed 100% with the liberal news.
That should send up a red flag right there! Since when did FR become the right arm of the liberal news?

and to the extent that many are solely blaming Bush and the Republican Congress for it...is amazing

I do not blame the Republican Congress to the extent that the GOP House is holding the line. However, as another poster noted, workforce crackdowns on hiring illegals all-but-ceased under Bush until very recently, when Bush starting promoting his guest-worker program in earnest. At some point, Bush has to accept a fair amount of the blame here, unless you don't think the buck stops in the Oval Office.

A Mexican telling a liberal press Bush is helping illegals cross,

So Fox news is now the liberal press? You don't think they did some checking on this before running it?

I hate to tell you this, but it's getting harder and harder to absolve Bush on this matter.

You also posted, "You're being a good little puppet". What projection! Don't you see that you are the one being used by the "stay in power at any cost" Republicans.

And can't you see how you're being used by the liberal press to hate everything Republican? You're close to not voting. Get it? It's working!

Many here are falling for what? Are you saying this is a false story?

Are you illiterate or just have blinders on?
That "mexican" as you referred to him, is a Border Patrol officer.

A U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesman confirmed the notification process, describing it as a standard procedure meant to reassure the Mexican government that migrants' rights are being observed.

"It's not a secret where the Minuteman volunteers are going to be," Mario Martinez said Monday.

"On the other hand, why do you support illegal immigration? Why do you support thousands of people streaming across the border? Why do you support illegals driving down the wages of unskilled workers? You seem to be very worried that the voters may take their frustrations out on candidates who support illegal immigration."

I don't know about you, but everytime I run across anyone, especially a Republican, who sides with Bush on this issue, I have to wonder why and if they are they sympathetic to the issue because they have very personal reasons for doing so. i.e., 'guilted' into taking sympathetic position by church....have an illegal family member or close acquaintance? Family member married to an illegal? Run a business with illegals? etc. Otherwise, it makes absolutely NO sense to me.

Considering that concerned about politics has stated that this article is about a Mexican (actually a U.S. Border Patrol spokesman) reporting to a paper in Canada (actually California), your's is a valid question.

It appears that it's true that "there are none so blind as those who will not see".

I'll be happy if the current crop of RINO's would be replaced with conservatives.

Good. I agree, but letting the democrats take over until you get there is a pretty dumb move.
If they manage to get Hate Speech laws passed , you won't even be able to speak out against anything they do. You'll never get your Conservative government.

Keep the Republicans we have, but work like hell to get the RINOs out of Washington. They hurt more than they help.

In the meantime, beware of the liberal press. They will try to get you so outraged, you'll not vote at all, and that's the plan. If you don't believe it, pay attention to the news they're reporting. It IS designed to outrage the base, and once you are aware of it, it sticks out like Club Gitmo t-shirt !!!

excellent example of wrong headed thinking.

We are now wrong headed in believing in what our forefathers brought forward.

What will it take before some "right headed" thinking people will understand that everything our country stood for is under attack? Maybe the end of english being our primary language or possibly when wages of the working stiffs is just enough to scrape by. This country is governed by the elites of both parties whereas rules and laws to not apply but only us ignorant "subjects". The middle class is being destroyed and slowly being replaced with ignorant, useful idiots (that means all of us). Talk about being a frog in tepid water......

Just know u r not alone in your observations. I made the same point on a thread yesterday, was beat up for it...by the "Jorge" Bush groupthink crowd.

Trolls, Libertarians, and Constitution Party people trying to suck up new supporters. Don't let them get to you.

I'm all for giving a person the benefit of the doubt and I do realize that it is not uncommon to misinterpret or misstate something you've just read, but it appears no answer is forthcoming. I think you are right- time to move on.

"...Libertarians...people trying to suck up new supporters. Don't let them get to you."

I highly doubt that. As bad as most democrats and some republicans are, the libertarian party is ten times worse on border security and immigration. No way I'd ever vote for them.

Apart from the notion that this "spam" was meant to inflict further damage on the GOP, are you concerned that it is true that the U.S. Border Patrol is collaborating with the Mexican government to assure the safe passage of illegal immigrants, at the potential peril of U.S. citizens?

Concerned? Nope. Who said the US is aiding Mexicans over the border? The liberal politicians may be pulling some strings, but the border control is sending them back. The Minutemen could vouch for that. They call the border control when they find them trying to cross.
