If I had told you on 9/11/2001 that we'd go four and half years and counting without another terrorist attack on US soil, would you have believed me?
If I had told you that US-led forces would secure Afghanistan in just a few months...something the Soviets couldn't accomplish in ten years...would you have thought I was crazy?
If I had told you that Saddam was gone, that Khadaffy had renounced terrorism, and that Iraq was on the verge of becoming the second democracy in the Middle East, would have thought I was on medication?
Sometimes in our disappointment of this administration, we often forget some of the positives. The economy is strong. More Americans are homeowners. With tax cuts, we're spending less time working for Uncle Sam.
And if you take those benefits for granted, just imagine how much different things would be under a President Al Gore.
So if the president's stance on immigration and spending upset you - and they do upset me - what are you going to do about it? Stay at home? Nothing could be worse for conservativism. Your non-support will usher in more immigrants, higher taxes, and weaker national security.
If the GOP loses Congress, George W. Bush will be removed from office. Nothing would embolden terrorists more. How can we be counted on to wage an effective war when we can't even decide who our enemy is?
George W. Bush isn't the enemy. But that's exactly the message conservatives will send to the world if they stay at home this November.
If you're upset with W. on immigration - write him, write a Republican Congressman, let him know how you feel. It was conservatives who got Bush to change his mind on Harriet Meirs.
I promise you, a Democratic Congress won't be nearly as responsive to your needs.
I'm a conservative American and will continue to vote REPUBLICAN because I know there is NO OTHER PARTY that will defend what is left of this republic and I DON'T TRUST the TRAITORS who claim otherwise.
Catfight!"
I'm glad you posted to show us how "we" all should feel.
BTW, did we also have enough in '86?
They don't want a third party to win.
They want the Republicans to lose.
Checked the FR polls? 20% of posters want the Democrats to take over Congress. You're seeing them here, in all their thumb-sucking glory.
As opposed to Republicans completing the job?
Ditto
Coservatives voted this big government champion into office TWICE! Other than offing some fanatics, securing piddly tax cuts, and promoting a handful of conservative judges, Bush is another big government enabler. Nobody should be surprised.

We wont lose the Congress, in fact, things are going to happen to insure that we PICK UP seats by November.
Just keep putting '2PAC' Pelosi on MTP ,, that should be worth a few more seats by itself.
Yes it could. And then people would see just exactly what kind of crazy moonbats the Democratic Party is full of. Right now the public and the media can give Democrats the benefit of the doubt, because they are in no power whatsoever. But if one of the houses were to fall to the Democrats, they could no longer hide behind the excuse of "hey, it's not our fault, we have no power!" They would actually be held accountable.
They would have to start taking policy stances, and odds are that the party of Howard Dean would promote absurdity after absurdity. It would give the Republican Party a major edge in 2008, because they'd have a perfect platform to attack the Democrats with. Plus, it would force them to actually go back to Republican principles since their irresponsibility from 2000-2006 would have led to their 2006 losses.
I'm voting down the Republican side in November; all I'm saying, though, is that conservatives have a perfectly legitimate reason not to back up a party that has stabbed them in the back the past few years- a party that has made a mockery out of their cause. I wouldn't blame them if they stayed home in November- especially with the terrible way this White House communicates. Seriously, it seems as if George W. Bush WANTS to make things a living hell for us when it comes to trying to defend him.
the people are not running for office. The Republican't weennies are. They have to EARN our vote. until then...

And in the blue corner... A TURD SANDWICH!!!:
You get ten extra points for using one of my favorite phrases, "nattering nabobs of negativism," (thanks Spiro)
which gives you a total score of 110. Congrats.
Buchananites and Keysters, rising from the dead.
They see a way to suck the life out of the GOP.
Oh, so it's questions time?
Quick, name the last President who went 6 years without vetoing even crappy laws, like McCain-Feingold?
Name the last GOP President who let the deficit run up so high?
Newsflash:
Until we get a line item-veto, we'll always have runaway spending. Clinton had one, and SCOTUS declared it unconstitutional. Well guess what? SCOTUS has moved to the right, and Bush HAS proposed another line-item veto.
Reagan
Bush has been a good president. His judicial picks have been very good. He had been tough on the war on terror, but he is getting gun shy versus Iran. His tax cuts have helped. The one area I really fault him and the GOP on is that they have not made any effort to reign in spending. In that area the GOP congress and the President have been a complete failure.
I'm not a big fan of Bush domestically, but the prospect of a new AWB, higher taxes and defeat in the middle east doesn't sound too appealing to me.
