ABC News ^ | May 3, 2006

She says she considered quitting her role as campaign adviser over the issue of gay marriage, but Vice President Dick Cheney's daughter Mary Cheney tells ABC News "Primetime" anchor Diane Sawyer her sexuality has never created problems within her family.

Mary Cheney discussed the campaign, her feelings about President Bush, life with her partner of 14 years, and what it was like to come out as gay to her parents.

"I struggled with my decision to stay on the 2004 campaign," Cheney told "Primetime." Her personal challenge came when President Bush said the nation must defend the sanctity of marriage.

"Where does God say anything about "sovereingty of will"? "

Thou shalt not kill.

"No matter what kind of fancy terminology you dress your idea in, we do not have a God-given right to choose evil.

Define evil.

" Lev 20:13"

I said find where Jesus told anyone to kill someone. I don't want to hear about Moses, because Moses gave you those things out of the hardness and wickedness within you. You love what Moses said, because you'd love to be able to roast people as you see fit.

Do you claim to have the right to violate the rights of others?

(No clintonian babbling: a simple YES or NO)

You'll remember that the Pre-Vatican II Catholic Church was one of Stalin's worst enemies.

That fact is irrelevant to the question of whether or not there is any philosophical difference between the two.

Apparently, you think (in the best tradition of the "me" generation) that love involves affirming every behavior and making no distinction between the virtuous and the wicked.

Nonsense. I haven't seen sinkspur affirm your posts, even once.

Evil is simply a moral rebellion against God or an act that is against God's will.

Started with satan and is encumbered in every human being which causes evil by exercising their own free will (Matthew 15: 18-19).

The only real solution is to remove the state from the matter altogether. They are making a mess of it with their usual anti-Midas touch.

Define evil.

That which is contrary to the commandments of God as taught by Jesus Christ. Arguing that God gave man the "right" to commit evil is an aburd premise--unless you believe that God himself is not good. Is that your belief?

Do you claim to have the right to violate the rights of others?

You speak nonsense. No one has the right to violate the God-given rights of another person. The "rights" you're talking about do not descend from God. They were hatched by materialists looking to validate their own doings.

Now perhaps you will answer my question: Where do your rights come from?

Are you claiming there are no philosophical differences between Stalin and the Pope?

Invincible ignorance requires no response.

If you are claiming that the Pope and Stalin are philosophical twins, you prove it. The rest of us are content to laugh at you.

Nonsense. I haven't seen sinkspur affirm your posts, even once.

You have succeeded in pointing out that the worst "evil" in our age is the willingness to differentiate evil acts from good ones. The "tolerance" fascists on college campuses would be proud of you.

I posit that such an attitude, if accepted widely enough, will be the downfall of our society.

God granted us a free will not to cause evil or excuse evil but so we may experience His love for us and our love for Him.

Humans abuse this free will and choose to do evil strictly for their own pleasure, lust, greed etc...

I don't want to hear about Moses, because Moses gave you those things

You seem to be biblically challenged here. While Moses was the writer of Leviticus, God was the Author. Moses was no more than a scribe taking dictation. The vast majority of Leviticus is direct quotes from God the Father as given to Moses.

To be sure you are certain that this is a direct quote I will include the entire portion of scripture in this post.

Leviticus 20:1 ¶ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

(This means that everything after this is the quoted words of God)

Leviticus 20:2 Again, thou shalt say to the children of Israel, Whosoever he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, that giveth any of his seed unto Molech; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones.
3 And I will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto Molech, to defile my sanctuary, and to profane my holy name.
4 And if the people of the land do any ways hide their eyes from the man, when he giveth of his seed unto Molech, and kill him not:
5 Then I will set my face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all that go a whoring after him, to commit whoredom with Molech, from among their people.
6 And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.
7 Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the LORD your God.
8 And ye shall keep my statutes, and do them: I am the LORD which sanctify you.
9 For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall be surely put to death: he hath cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him.
10 ¶ And the man that committeth adultery with another man’s wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.
11 And the man that lieth with his father’s wife hath uncovered his father’s nakedness: both of them shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
12 And if a man lie with his daughter in law, both of them shall surely be put to death: they have wrought confusion; their blood shall be upon them.
13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

So you see it's one long quote where GOD says "They shall surely be put to death"

So I didn't give you Moses, I gave you the Word(s) of God. Now if you have an issue with what God says then take it up with Him.

And we've already discussed that Jesus and the Father are one. If the Father said it, Jesus said it.

"I think that's the biggest threat to the "sanctity" of most marriages."

While it is a threat, no doubt, no fault divorce, also, was "brought to you by" the same feminists who now try to bring us homosexual pseudo marriage. It is all part of the same agenda as is abortion.

Look into the history of all three. For the record they also brought us the welfare state, another feminist attack on the family designed to help eliminate the need for fathers.

Lastly, divorce is a big problem, HOWEVER, one does not fix a problem by introducing another problem. One fixes the problem that originally existed. That argument, which is to say that divorce is a worse threat, so homosexuals should be allowed to marry, is like saying if one breaks their ankle, the femur should then be broken since the ankle is broke anyway. Ridiculous.

I think it's all a lesson that we're all responsible for our own marriages and would do best to keep our noses out of others'. It's worked for me for twenty years, now.
