Another suggestion: who "outed" Plame
I said that Wilson revealed he was the Ambassador who was the source for the May 2003 Nicholas Kristof piece and the June 2003 Walter Pincus piece, in which he falsely accused the Administration of jiggering evidence on June 14, 2003 at the Washington EPIC conference (where he also listed his wife’s name as “Valerie Plame.”) There’s ample reason to believe he flourished her name and connection to the agency in greater detail regularly, which makes the entire investigation into who publicly disclosed her identity particularly ridiculous. A shrewd reader at Free Republic has found this article (wayback says it was posted July 7, 2003 - before Novak’s article) See if you can guess who was the “former state department official with ties to the CIA” who was a source for this article which the wayback machine says was posted on July 7, 2003. Ray McGovern, who was the other featured speaker at the EPIC conference and a leading member of the VIPs—one who openly called on CIA employees to leak – is a named source. A second source is described only as a “former state department official with ties to the CIA.” I strongly suspect “former state department official” is none other than Ambassador Munchausen himself, referring to his wife’s employment to strengthen his credentials. And I have reason to believe that has been a pattern, as the witnesses Libby has announced he’ll call will demonstrate.
That's what I've thought all along. Either he was a complete dufus or they were planning a book deal for the past couple years. Or both. And as you said, who the heck cared. It wasn't as if she didn't drive to work and home every day in plain view.
I have said all along Wilson is the leaker who revealed Plame's employer. He is sufficiently psychopathic to accuse the White House of doing it....and it then got legs of its own. And of course President Bush walked right into the Wilson trap....

The fact that Wilson had her named on his personal web site long before this even became a "story" can be considered "outing" as well. The obvious fact is that she was not covert, and therefore there was nothing to "out" in the first place. It's still media and partisan players who keep making this an issue when it's not. I want to see media itself get hung for abusing the "freedom of the press" rights everyone -both on the right and left- keeps crying every time someone mentions accountability, and laws to define it.
Freedom of the press should only apply to non- partisan honest reporting of FACTS, not to political conspiracies to bring down a government, especially during a time of war, and to influence the public- we the people- and our ability and absolute right to choose our government which is based on accurate and honest media reporting.
It should be a automatic hanging offense to corrupt and pervert our electoral process- to influence the public via media aided conspiracies in order to install a government which any sane person- knowing the truth- would rather see behind bars.
It already belongs in the fiction section. Only a far left wing useful idiot (Micheal Moore fan) would actually use up their welfare check to pay for one (or their allowance).
According to a Wilson interview, she was planning on running for political office. Socialist democrat, of course.
Once the 9/11 commission exposed her and her husbands treason, that idea died quickly, but the left wing press had to reward her for her anti-patriotism somehow, I suppose.

First, it's kind of hard to hide your spouse. I mean, the person lives in the same house, etc.
Second, it's kind of hard to hide the name of your spouse, especially if you have kids, go to parties in the neighborhood, etc.
Now, if Wilson had said, "my wife, Valerie Plame, is undercover CIA," I'd say the writer had a point.
