Been nice knowin' ya, America
By Dimitri Vassilaros TRIBUNE-REVIEW Sunday, May 7, 2006
Will the next generation of U.S. citizens consider themselves Americans or post-Americans? Better still, why wouldn't they consider themselves post-Americans? Considering how quickly this republic is unraveling, is it too late to ask rhetorical questions?

Most of these kids today don't even know what "romance" is or a great innocent love song.
They just cannot know how it felt back in the 40's and 50's.

Too true! Those sponsoring so called "free" sex knew they were fostering the break down of society and the death of true love.

Get a DVD of Wylie Avenue Days....... and see how a fine black community back in the old days here in Pittsburgh flourished and there was no crime. You should see the area now after 45 years of liberalism. The 50's were better.

Thus guaranteeing that the "predictions" of the wacko Aztlan types come true, that they take over by sheer demographics. It's already started. There were a million people marching in the streets protesting American law.

This cracks me up. I live in California, and we have been over ran with illegal aliens my entire life. To pretend it is the Bush administration's fault sounds just a bit like the talking points on CNN.

And our own retarded politicians did nothing. Ernesto Zedillo in a speech in chicago in 1997 said they were going to take over with numbers. I think this "compassionate" approach should be replaced with M-60's.

either Edward Gibbon or Will Durant stated that all civilizations are born Stoic and die Epicurean I nearly completely sure that was Will Durant......... my very favorite human of all time.
My grandfather was a pretty important person at a very prominent university back throughout the 20's -50's. Will Durant was a pretty good acquaintance of his. My grandfather turned me on to Will Durant a long time ago.
What a great man. Only he could present philosophic thought and history so very beautifully.

Noted and listed, Quix. Thanks. Important things to consider when embarking on any undertaking. Guidance from above, first and foremost. Some vessels will be fitted to destruction, destroying the threat to the human race. Destroying the threat to the nation that will lead the charge. Preserving our nation under the rule of law by a motivated people that will not go silently into the night.
Whatever it takes.

I took your post to mean something else -- a lot more sinister.
So you think Bush Sr. is a member of the Trilateral Commission?

What makes the US better than other countries is not something intangible.
Its the fact that people just try and do the right thing, without getting muddled up in all sorts of political correctness and rhetoric (for the most part).
If Bin Laden attacks the twin towers, we go after him, we hurt him.
If crime bosses were taking voer the country in the 1920s, we fight them, we liquidate them.
I believe very much in the United States.
No matter what anyone says, we'll beat this.

What was Will and/or Ariel Durant's answer when asked to summarize all they'd learned from 2 lifetimes of studying all of recorded history into one sentence?
I think it was something to the effect of
LOVE ONE ANOTHER.
They were quite a couple.

50 years ago would have been better.
But certainly we are obligated to do what we can now.
