Current Poll - 13% of members will turn it over to the rats????

Posted on 05/06/2006 9:51:50 AM PDT by Sonora

Current poll:

"A time for choosing: It appears that a significant number of our members are so disgusted with the GOP's failure to secure our borders against illegal aliens that they are willing to risk all by voting them out of office, even if it means Pelosi, Reid, Hillary, et al, are allowed to take charge. Is this the best course of action or should we be working harder than ever to hold the line and actually try to make a difference by getting more constitutionally-minded conservatives elected? Are you willing to give it all up or are you more determined than ever to keep the Marxists out of power?" _____

So far, 13% of members and 18%+ of participants in this poll say - turn it over to the rats. What's with that? I cannot believe that 13% of those posting here are so stupid or angry with what is happening that they would turn to the rats for the way back to perfect. Now, 13% will result in a winning vote, in a lot of cases.

Anyway, I guess that there is no compromising for some people - just dig a hole and live there while the rats are in charge. I'm so disappointed.

I think 1 term of a looney leftist Pelosi would be much better than 2 terms of a McCain or Gullianni which would set the new GOP norm and make the present Bush administration look as conservative as a Barry Goldwater when you look back 2 terms from now so in 2 terms from now the only winnable GOP candidate would be one who is as "conservative" as a Richard Gephardt of today.

"" saw a poll from Mexico recently which showed that over half of their remaining population still has a high level of interest in heading north.""

that's fine but that doesnt prove 3m people moved here from Mexico last year alone.

BTW if 1/2 of mexico population moved here, USA would be such a cesspool and Mexico a garden of eden that most of them would turn around and go right back

That is something to consider...and I hear that one of the candidates is very close to Castro and Chavez...

With respect to that, I believe it was far from an emotional fit. Sometimes much can be said with few words

Thank you, jazusamo

I've been known to get in trouble with using few words *L*

Though this time .. I think it fits ;0)

But the 08 candidates are lining up now, and it's still important.

Okay, you're free to believe whatever you want.

Well, thanks anyway but, I really was not awaiting your permission to do so.

I believe the borders are a part of the WOT. Why buy the latest and greatest security measures for your home if you don't even close the back door? When the homeowner gets robbed, or "caught unawares," you wouldn't mock them or ridicule them? Law enforcement would. Insurance companies would probably use that as an excuse to get out of paying their claim, because a "reasonable person" would not only have shut the door, but locked it.

Don't know about 02. From what I remember about 04, the polls usually gave Bush a slight lead. Until the exit polls at least. And he did win by a pretty narrow margin. IMO benefiting to some extent from the "better than the other guy" rationale combined with the left's livid hysterics turning off any fence-sitters.

You are correct, there is a lot of anger in the ranks, and right now we aren't giving the other side many reasons to cross over. The GOP has to offer something more substantial the lessor of two evils this time around.

You are so very wrong about Mo1...she is one of the most realistic, well informed posters on FR.

I agree. The choices were about as good as the MSM usually uses in there polls to get the answerers they want. There was only one choice. I would have added a third party option at least. Voting Dem is not an answer.

I was totally surprised at the number who would turn it over to the rats rather than fighting to get conservative republicans elected.

I wonder if the owner of this site knows who voted to let the rats have it. It would be very interesting.

It shows 19.4% would give it to the rats. That's a lot for FR.

"Workable?" Surely you're kidding.

Workable=compromise, which, as we all know, is kryptonite to the unappeasables.

So true. I support the War in Iraq as I also consider it to be the WOT. But to execute such a war without closing the border is like throwing rocks at a hornets nest which is beside the open window of your home. Close the borders!

"If the "dead enders" get their way, the message the GOP will learn will be to move to the center, not the right. Afterall Santorum will have lost and Chaffee will have won a 20 point victory. What else could be more clear?"
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.........
my my such fear of defeat at the polls, YOu GOP koolaid drinkers are a laugh..it's not about GOP or DEM it's about the will of the people..it can be massaged and managed for just so long, then it does the most unexpected things..the GOP will change or it will die, too bad, my constitution says nothing about the GOP has a right to remain a political party in power..I have no fear of the RINO's and big business GOP going out of power after these last six years it just doesn't matter much anymore.

These are the same people that think writing in "Mickey Mouse" as a write-in candidate actually accomplishes something.

I'm not sure there's any point in engaging them. It's a mindset from another universe entirely.

They get off by stomping their feet and announcing loudly that they will never vote GOP (again) and think that it matters because they get a lot of response at this forum.

It's irrelevant and it always has been irrelevant. It's both aggravating and humorous. They'd prefer to aggravate.

Well...then we need to take the energy, and attention we are using to complain...and "go out" and find one.

I am not speaking of you complaining, I am talking about freepers, and the Republcian/Conserative party.
