Cynthia McKinneys reaction to the obvious and blatant favoritism enjoyed by Patrick Kennedy is likely to be something to savor.
She is already on the record about the indignities she received at the hand of a white cop.
But now she sees that for the white boy, supervisors stepped in, relieving the officers at the scene and driving the staggering Kennedy home.
She faces potential legal jeopardy, and now a rich white boy walks away without so much as a breathalyzer test from circumstances that would ordinarily demand a drunk driving investigation.
At least one cop reportedly says he smelled alcohol.
Never known for self-control or thoughtfulness, Representative McKinney is going to have a hard time keeping her mouth shut.
She could denounce favoritism, of course. But she is asking for favoritism herself, so that wont work out too well. Even McKinney can see this.
So she will demand equal treatment meaning equal immunity from the laws which govern the rest of us.
But that argument raises awkward questions for the rest of the United States Congress.
Who will be the first member of Congress to stand-up and demand hearings on the Capitol Polices treatment of members of Congress?

Patrick Kennedys timing could not be better.
We are in for a treat as the mid-term elections loom in half a year.
The GOPs opportunity has arrived.
A fruitcake upset by arrogant, lying scum.
We had better buy a lot of popcorn, oil the hinges on our Lazy Boys, fine tune our tvs for Fox News and then enjoy this great event.
GO, CYNTHIA, GO!!
Will never happen...but I can wish.
The race card and the death card.
"GO, CYNTHIA, GO!!"
Never thought I'd say this but Go Cynthia, indeed. I would say, in this case, she has a legit gripe.
You can bet it isn't going to be a pubbie.....all the pubbies have to do is hear the name 'kennedy' and they all hit the floor and hide under their desks, hoping they will walk on by.....
And I'm not a zot....I'm a pubbie myself, but I have never seen such gutless wonders as these pubbies we have in Washington D.C. today....
Besides a good supply of popcorn, I will make sure that our micro beer selection is well stocked.
I'm less than impressed by the Rebuplicans in DC these days. I'm hoping for real conservatives to be elected. If that means running out a few gutless RINOs in the primaries so be it.
The last thing a GOP-controlled Congress ought to do is stand for the principle of immunity from the demands they impose on the rest of us.
At least one cop reportedly says he smelled alcohol.
You think with Rupbert and the slime clinton in bed together, the real facts will be stated???? I'm just wondering....
I wonder if he was wearing the same clothes that he had on the prior evening whilst drinking at the Hawk and Dove??
Now... Hmmmmm...
If only we could find a way to write in some naturally malodorous nicotine-saturated Perrier-swizzling cheese-eating ultra-froggie surrender monkeys into this comic scenario....
NOW THAT...
Would be entertainment worth double-barrel popcorn and a new HD wide screen...
I guess what comes to light out of both "incidents" of late, is that there seems be a bad smell coming from the Capitol Police :) I am sure the older guys have been around from the days when congress was a "nice country club," to work for :)... Now, there are so many damn people trying to look into how they run their damn business (protecting the club members), they can not do nothing anymore! Damn shame yeaah...
Seriously, the Capitol Police, should be on notice they will be watched carefully from now on. The explosion of the new media will see they follow the book to the letter or else. I am tired of these people (congress) getting away with so much. It's about time, the put the spot light on them FULL BLAST.
Does this help any ?
The first thing congress critters should do is take a in depth course on the US Constitution, what it means and what they are supposed to do.
Instead of passing laws, hoping the courts will stop them, they should stop passing unconstitutional laws in the first place.
Frankly, I'd like to see a requirement that congress repeal two laws for every new one they pass. Not just federal either. States too. I'd love to know how many CO senators and representatives have ever read the CO Constitution? Few, if I had to guess.
