Last Monday, a lot of FReepers were demanding to know where all the anti-illegals counter demonstrators. Many of answered "work."
Looks like some who did take a day off to counter-protest the illegals were carted off to jail for "public safety" concerns. Interesting.

The issue should be referred to the U.S Justice department, and the Seattle officers should be arrested for civil rights violations.
To: StevenB
Though some may believe it wasn't too smart to bring guns with them, as violent as peacenik-types are, and a lot of illegals fall into that category, they really might have needed those guns to protect them from the peaceful demonstrators.
I can't say the police did the right thing. Protection would have been far better, even though the protestors were a riot waiting to happen. They should have been prepared for that eventuality, too.

Once again, STUPID COPS who cannot comprehend the Constitution they swore an oath to uphold blow it big time. All police officers should be required to take a course in Constitutional Law and read, (and tested on), "The Federalist Papers" before they're put on the streets.
Whoever in the "police hierarchy" that authorized this and wanted them "held until the march was over" should be fired iommediately and lose every cent of any vested retirement account.
We either have a Constitution or we don't, and "maintaining civil order" isn't a valid excuse for this kind of crap.

So, the rights of American citizens that are supposed to be protected by the Constitution - specifically those mentioned in the 1st and 2nd Amendments in the Bill of Rights - are being violated in order to give rights to the hordes of marching invaders who neither possess nor deserve those rights.
I, for one, welcome our new alien overlords. < /sarcasm >

Although counterprotestors have my unqualified support, the gun possession, even with a carry permit is a whole other thing.
Abysmal lack of judgement in my opinion. Like using a blowtorch for lighting in a gasoline storage shed.
Yes, that for me would be grounds to revoke the carry license.

I think the stat. I heard yesterday was that 1 in 12 was a felon. That sounds like a good reason to pack.

I have told my students, truthfully, that any opposition to the illegal aliens is going to be met with equal force by the United States government. I warned them that even if attacked, they would be subject to suppression by the BATF and/or the FBI. My statement has been confirmed.

I told people the other day on a thread about the protest of illegals outside of Bush's ranch in Texas that citizens protesting would be harassed and maybe arrested.
I was mocked and laughed at. I was told "What country are you from? That doesn't happen here in the U.S".
Guess what?

Appears racist as well i.e. the presumption that these Mexicans would ultimately become violent.
