I don't want to hear from those idiots. Rudy Giuliani wanted the death penalty, that's enough for me.

Although some say life in prison is more punishment for this man than death, I believe the death penalty is not merely brought to bear in order to punish an individual. The death penalty is a statement made by the entire government of the people, on their behalf; a response not merely to the perpetrator's motives and personal interests, but also to the act he committed, and as such it is spoken to all the world watching us.
That monster richly deserves the death penalty, and his crime howls for it. But most of all, when the world observes that we do not respond justly, and when they begin to dissect the lame, sentimental, illogical, white-livered explanations of the various jurors in this case, the world will conclude that those jurors ARE America.
This verdict diminishes America.

what would be the purpose of living if hyptothetically you were allowed no mail, no outside contact, 1 hour outside of your cell per day, and no other freedoms?

Um...you would be ALIVE.

If "child abuse" was a valid excuse for plotting the murder of 3,000 civilians, what of US attacks on foreign nations?

And what of Timothy McVeigh's "defense" of his terrorist act as "justified"?

Hello,

I just got in, heard the verdict on the radio in the car. I said exactly the same thing to Mr. MOgirl. I teared up some when I realized that 3,000 deaths do not warrant the death penalty. And, please, don't anyone here talk to me about him becoming a martyr. This POS will have his Koran, his prayer rug, his acceptable diet, his RIGHTS! What about the flippin rights of the Americans who burned to death, jumped their deaths, or were crushed to death? I am (deleted) furious, and not sure why we need to even keep trying. Between the invasion from Mexico, and our own stupid people, why the hell even bother?? Glad to be here, ready to scream, MOgirl

No, he won't. He'll never get out. You watch.

You seem to be quite uninformed, iltc.

What is your point...putting 2 Federal government employees, a teacher, and a mental health researcher??

What are the others..

OR, was CNN trying to make some kind of statement about a connection between people with those jobs??

Someone on FoxNews said it will cost $100,000/year to keep this guy in prison. Did anyone else hear this? I assume he'll get three meals a day and a cell. How does this add up to $100,000 a year. Sheesh, my husband and I have a home mortgage, eat, pay taxes, insurances, etc., etc. and we're not anywhere nar $100,000/yr.!

wonder about that. You may think that now, but I wonder how you'd feel as your execution day nears and how you'd feel as you're about to be injected. If most feel they'd rather die,, why so many appeals?

Exactly. If he had gotten the death penalty, Moussaoui would have been *issing his pants on the day of his execution just like every other human being. Funny how facing your death does that to a person.

I think ideally executions would take place within 1 year of the sentence, but the reason that I oppose the death penalty is the chance of executing an innocent. I believe that with as many executions as we have carried out in this country since 1976, we have almost certainly executed at least a couple. And that is unacceptable to me.

As the saying goes, I would rather see 1000 murderers go free than have one innocent be executed. With the death penalty, if DNA evidence is later found proving the innocence of someone, or another person is linked to the crime through DNA, then you cannot reverse the execution. Just think about it.

"I definitely believe in the death penalty but in this case I agree. Keep him alive and in prison but not General Population, put him in Segregation and lose the address and key."

I couldn't agree more: The bastard will never be released on parole, so let him enjoy the next 50 years of being the other inmates b*tch.
