I disagree. The jury felt sorry for him because of his "bad childhood" and rotten father. The little terrorist is laughing at us. He sees us as weaklings and he had been proven correct - unfortunately. The country does not have the stomach for the war on terror. And that is unfortunate, because it is going to come back at us again, and again.

You are absolutely correct. An when an American hostage is threatened with death unless we free this scum, that is what they will be thinking: that we are weak. When you are merciful to the cruel you are cruel to the merciful.

Son of a bitch--we have to feed his sorry ass.

We have to feed his sorry ass orange glazed chicken and rice pilaf.

And then we'll have to turn his toilet sideways so he can make room for more.

You are right: and they are registered Democrats! This is being taken as a sign of weakness by our enemies. This jury nit picked and split hairs in order not to execute him. This is the "average" American jury - spineless.

You are a martyr if you blow yourself up - not if you are executed by the infidels - then you are just another pathetic jerk.

incredibly fast.

did you hear the specific issues mentioned by the baliff, the # of jurors who lent credence to the fact that he was "abused as a child".

we are finished in this country, this was supposed to be a jury pool drawn from a conservative part of the country?

"The country does not have the stomach for the war on terror. And that is unfortunate, because it is going to come back at us again, and again."

We have killed tens of thousands in Iraq and Afghanistan and they still "come back at us again and again". It is not logical to presume that if we had put one more to death it would change their thinking in any way.

He won't die a martyr. I like my neighbor's idea of cutting off his left "unclean" hand so he has to wipe with his right "clean" hand for the rest of his days.

The second- is that it is going to take a nuke or similar attack to bring these liberals to their senses.

You know, I don't think even that will bring them back to long destroyed senses. They will only blame Pres Bush or you or me. Watch and see.

If you check it out, the overwhelming European view is that this was a good decision because it dtyroesn't make him a martyr. Then there was this bit of bizarreness from an alleged American:

Added: Wednesday, 3 May, 2006, 21:19 GMT 22:19 UK The poor man is clearly mad. He wants to be part of a movement that rejected him; and America, in its lashing out to find someone to blame, is sending an innocent man to prison. Even the federal judge in charge of the case said in conference that she thought he was innocent. John Wood, Los Angeles

Uh-oh. I think you just did the same as what you say the poster did. Everyone is entitled to their opinion even when it is different from yours. But you know that and maybe you should have just passed that post on by. Many (including myself) are just a little heated tonight because we still have this freak breathing because some jury members thought he had a bad childhood. It will probably be no different if we capture osama instead of killing him.

He would have said that regardless of the decision. If they had given him the death penalty, he would have said he got what he asked for. If he gets life in prison, he says he fooled us. I'm not at all saying I'm agreeing with the way things came down, I'm saying let's not give him more credit then he deserves. He should not get one more second of coverage, but I doubt our MSM will show respect to the victims and their families by honoring that. I can't put on here what I'd like to see happen to him.

Yes, I am an American.

Since they considered his poor childhood and his good behavior in prison and decided that such things outweighed 9/11, then they are, indeed, liberal scum. I stand by my assessment of this jury.

Oh, and by the way, there is no evidence that his life in prison will be miserable. He will not be put in with the general prison population, so there will be no prison rape for him.

As he said, he won, America lost. Thanks to the bleeding hearts, the traitors, and the scumbags.

yes, but since none of that is going to happen - why keep posting it?

deal with reality, this guy is going to have an austere but comfortable life. considering if he were with AQ, he would be living in a cave in Pakistan fearing for his life everyday from US drone attacks - this verdict is an IMPROVEMENT in his life over that. A better sentence would be to release him into Pakistan, so US forces could at least hunt him like an animal.

Hello,

A very dark day, indeed.

I don't even know what to say except that while we work, feed our families, pay tuition, raise our kids, take care of our elderly parents, try to get ready for our own retirement needs, go to church, help others, and all the other things that we contribute to this country, others here are doing everything they can to destroy it.

Glad to be here, MOgirl

My America did not lose because of the jurors decision. Your emotional, name calling screed shows you to be a liberal. Trolling?
