I remember this case. The guy was a piece of scum and there was little doubt he was guilty. The world is better off without him.

So, is this article just leftist propaganda? I am a strong proponent of the death penalty but when the 'left' can find a case where we wrongly gave such a penalty, we would have a hard time to enforce it going forward.

Last thing the death penalty needs is a wrongful conviction proven 'after the fact'. World may be better off with a lot of 'pieces of scum' but the key question was there 'litle doubt he was guilty!'

That's the problem with executions, if there is little doubt than we may have killed an innocent man. Sorry, but I don't trust our government when it comes to these decisions. the only time execution is warranted, in my opinion, is if other lives are at risk (i.e. the guy is capable of carrying out death orders to the outside...i.e. mob).

This is probably going to be an instant replay of a similar recent situation in Virginia when the big mouths were all but certain that looking at the DNA evidence with new technology would prove an executed guy's innocence.

All it ended up doing was even further solidifying his guilt.

Thank you for your strong and unqualified (and I mean that in BOTH senses of the term!) support for the 5th Amendment. (Look it up!)

If you ever fall into the Just Us machinery, may you be accorded the same level of prosecutorial competence.

He quite well have been what you say but if he did not commit this crime he should not have been executed. I worked in the Criminal Justice System for years and have very little regard for most lawyers but the system is truly flawed and most Investigators have tunnel vision once they make up their mind. Before seeking the death penalty you need unbiased testimony and that is hard to find.

You seem to have brought out some of FR's long time liberals. Do you have a link to the original account of the trial? That would help.
