Boycott "Cinco de Mayo"
We don't need no steenkin' source | May 3rd | Vanity

Posted on 05/03/2006 7:34:20 AM PDT by Monk Dimittis

Fed up with the Mexican illegals and their supporters, many of whom are Mexicans also (those who didn't support the illegals were rather quiet)?

Boycott Cinco de Mayo. Stay away from everything Mexican on May 5th. Don't buy Mexican beers.

I've never celebrated it anyhow.

No more Goya for me either after yesterday....decent products but they can have it.

Tyson...never liked that Boss Hogg lookalike anyhoo.

The only thing Mexican I refuse to live without is Mole.

The corona you get in mexico in the little brown stubby bottles tastes completely different than the corona you buy here in the states too!

Why would I want to punish myself by denying celebration and Dos Equis?

That's stupid.

I guess my having lived in the mountains of central Mexico for about a year softened me.

That said, I am STRONGLY against ILLEGAL immigration, and strongly in favor of securing our borders.

I've added the ' to your "mole" just so there's noone picturing you with a sombrero-wearing, sarapé-clad rodent on a leash.
Molé. (alt + 0233)

Why would anyone buy Mexican beer in the first place?

WTH would anyone with even a marginally refined taste for beer by any Anheiser Busch or Miller products?

Same reasons!

I don't think Goya is a Mexican company.

Right. Had a friend from Marfa in the Army, whom I visited at home once. Not exactly verdant pastures by the the banks of the Wabash.... Good folks, though.

What's to celebrate? How difficult is it to defeat the French in battle anyway?

Can you imagine losing to them!

Talk about a list of failures.

I'm boycotting boycotts of boycotts.

Oh yeah? Well, I'm boycotting boycott boycott boycotting. Take that.

I actually am making a small statement. In my little town are two "Mexican" restaurants, one rather pretentious and one Mom-and-Pop operation. The former closed on the 1st of May and the latter did not. Simple economics - I'm having a beer at the latter. I like real Mexicans, actually, most of the ones I've met are rather nice. Phony Mexicans are as repellent as phony Indians and they can take the chip on their collective shoulder and shove it where the sun don't shine. IMHO, of course.

I agree, if you want to boycott, it should be by NOT going to Mexico or boycott anybody that was closed Monday in support of Illegal immigration. Boycotting Cinco de Mayo here in the U.S. is only hurting american business for the most part.

The French did not loose Mexico until after the Confederacy fell. Mexico profited enormously from smuggling goods into the Confederacy.Mexico contributed nothing to the victory of the Northern States

You're wrong.

The ragtag Mexican Army attacked Napoleon as he was advancing to aid the Confederates. And the French's military at the time was the best in the world.

Well, if France had won, the Mexicans would be waving white flags instead of what they are waving HERE now.

I will never go to Mexico again! My pesos stays here!

I know; once a favorite beach vacation spot, Mr. HR and I are in search of a new all-inclusive destination easily accessed from Texas. All suggestions are welcome.

Lol! My sentiments exactly! A classroom full of first graders could have done the same in half the time.
