John Reid is right! So right...I'm sort of surprised he comes from the Labour Party.

Does anyone think we need to send the Air Craft Carrier Lincoln back to the Gulf?
Why doesn't anyone point that out?

You are exactly right, and the Dems were agreeing with Bush about six months ago at the height of Murtha's insanity.
Bush was correct to thank our troops for a job well done.

Hi Attilla,
How are you today? I agree that President Bush has given the troops in the field more leeway. The comment came from a snippet I heard on Laura Ingraham's show (I think) where supposedly Zarqawi was just missed because someone didn't know if they had clearance to shoot. If that stuff's still happening it's bad. And ... I agree, if you are talking Total War in the WWII or even early Cold War sense..fight until the enemy is totally destroyed and either surrenders or is fully occupied, I agree with you. But I also agree with Steele that we are still too willing to accept the b**lSh*t that the enemies of Freedom throw at us about killing cultures other than our own. I do think the Western Tradition deserves defending in the manner that Tony Blankley suggests in "The West's Last Chance".

The bomb saved lives. No question.. I believe the estimate was 2 million Americans were saved from not having to invade Japan.

How do you think the Moors got into southern Europe? Tourism visas? El Cid might argue with you if he were around.
Do the words,"...to the shores of Tripoli" mean anything?
That reluctance you feel is exactly what keeps these guys going.
Just as when we defeated Nazism, once we get rid of enough of them, the rest will give up their beliefs in this socio/political abomination. The threat of annihilation kept the Soviets from taking over the West. Islam does not believe that we will do it to them and so does what it does. They think we are weak. We need to show our power, fortitude and will to do just that in order to dissuade them of this assumption.

Bush was correct to thank our troops for a job well done. And that's all it was too. He wasn't saying we won or the war was over. He was just thanking those troops.
And not only that, if you fly a US fighter jet and land on an aircraft carrier you are required to wear a flight suit.
