A day in the life of President Bush (4/30/06): photos of correspondents dinner
Yahoo News Photos ^ | 4/30/06

PRESIDENTIAL NEWS OF THE DAY: President and Mrs. Bush attended St. John's Church this morning, as is their custom when spending the weekend at the White House. Last night they attended the annual White House Correspondents' Association dinner, where the President and his "alter ego," comedian Steve Bridges, stole the show.

The best review I found is on USA Today's website. Since I'm not sure how much of their material we can excerpt, I'll just provide a link. The article includes a nearly complete transcript of the President's and Mrs. Bridges routine.

Just curious if there is an 'after-action' WHCA Dinner FReep thread? (I was unable to find one)

I am SO sorry we couldn't join you for all the activities this past weekend. Thank you once again for hitting the streets on behalf of all far-flung FReepers! :o)

Sure, over here:

AAR: Boston Glob Reporter Forgot American Hero, but Knew Who Cindy Sheehan Was (WHCA FReep, 4/29/06)

Also, at a latter rally: Fred Phelps FReeped at Bethesda Naval Hospital

Aww thanks! *hugs* The one that was due at 10:00 this morning I finished last night. And I'm currently working on one of the two that's due on Wednesday. If I finish today, I should have no trouble getting everything else done.

How are you doing today?

Thanks, dinasour. I'll bookmark the threads for later (gotta run for now).

The WHCA Dinner FReep is a lot of fun, isn't it? Hope you had a good time, and THANK YOU for being there for those of us who couldn't make it down to DC.

I'm very late to the thread but I thought I'd add - that I sold a house (in 2005) that was supposed to be my inheritance from my parents, and I just hated to sign the IRS forms and write the check for so much of what was supposed to be MINE!

I paid taxes on that house that had been bought with money on which taxes had been paid numerous times as my Dad made money not only from his salary but from buying/selling stock. Then I paid the mortgage on same house, with money that had been taxed several times (also salary and stock buying/selling) so sending in a check to the Feds with that many zeroes - on money that had already been taxed 3-4-5-6 times before just made me nuts.

I've been writing letters to Senators and Congress Critters to get this inheritance tax done away with.

Can you see the perpetuation of the problem, when I die and my inheritors have to pay taxes, AGAIN, on money that has already been taxed multiple times??? It's my definition of insanity.

Hi Truthy, good to hear from you. What you describe is my definition of government greed. Government, as an entity, is the most greedy enterprise on the planet.

Just came back from shopping. Bought myself a few things as a birthday present for myself! I was determined to do some shopping today in protest to the boycotters.

It's lovely here today. Warm and sunny for a change.

How many more days till school is finished for the year?

What are you planning for the summer?

There are ways around this. Simple ways. A trust, for one. Had one been set up, you would not have paid anything. do not fail to set one up for your children/heirs.

Yay! Birthday presents are fun :) I would've gone shopping too if I didn't have papers to write and exams to study for. I have one exam tomorrow, two papers due on Wednesday, and one exam on Wednesday. After that exam, I'm going home but my exam for my online class isn't due until Thursday. Then I'm done! I have the rest of May off but for all of June, July, and August, I'll be working as an Archery Director at a summer camp. Three days after camp is over, I go to DC for the fall semester. No rest for the ambitious :)

Three days after campis over, I go to DC for the fall semester.

Hope that your exams go well.

Let me know if you would like to be added to our DC Chapter ping list. That way, you will be kept informed of our activities some of which are highlighted below.

It would be a pleasure to have you join us in the fall, but any FReeper can be added to the list at any time and don't even have to be in the DC area to be added to the list.

We always encourage new FReepers and those new to the area to join us in our peaceful activities supporting the troops and opposing leftists.

Some of those recent activites are highlighted below and the posted reports are linked so you may read details.

Friday, April 21: FReep 53 at Walter Reed, April 21 (Heavy graphics, Join us April 28!)

Saturday, April 22: WEEK 17 - Olney, MD., 4-22-06: Operation Infinite FReep, OLNEY WELCOMES FREEPERS

Friday, April 28: Walter Reed FReep. Report to be posted in next few days.

Saturday, April 29, three events

morning: Fred Phelps FReeped at Bethesda Naval Hospital

afternoon: FReep of leftists in Olney, MD. Report to be posted in next few days.

afternoon to evening: AAR: Boston Glob Reporter Forgot American Hero, but Knew Who Cindy Sheehan Was (WHCA FReep, 4/29/06)

Have fun at archery camp, but don't get any of the students mad at you. :)
