I think Joe S has taken too much pain medication and it has dried out his brain. He sure is not the same Rep. Joe Scarborough who represented Florida in Congress as a conservative.

The dinner would kick off a little later, at 8:20, with the arrival of President Bush and his wife Laura Bush, in a black dress. Bush shook hands with dinner entertainer Stephen Colbert on the way to his seat at the head table. Colbert was seated next to venerable Helen Thomas.

I USED to love Colbert, but he was NOT funny and went out of his way to skewer Bush, when on his show he says he's an "independent" which is Hollywood speak for conservative.

If I had to sit with Helen Thomas I don't think I could be very funny either....how many times did Colbert throw up while seated with her? Did they serve roasted ugly pig in her honor? Just wondering. I was glad to read that Val & Joe showed up. I think she meant to say she was wearing armor, not armani since she was with her POS husband. (must have been a "typo" at E&P) :0)

“I’m wearing Armani.”

What a dumb reporter. Doesn't he realize that Valerie was speaking in spook-talk code words? What is wrong with him? She gave him the code words twice, and he flubbed it.

He was supposed to respond with "Out West, where you vacation, the aspens will already be turning. They turn in clusters, because their roots connect them."

Whereupon Plame was supposed to hand him a microdot containing Cheney's numbered Swiss bank account where Halliburton has been sending the payoff money. I'm surprised that Valerie didn't down the cyanide capsule right then and there.
