A Google search reveals for "illegal immigrants per day into the USA" about 7000 people. These people do not walk to their destination so someone is burning gasoline to move illegals. How much fuel?
At least one out of 4 of these illegals are going to put an auto of some kind on the road. I doubt it is a 2006 model. So it is a clunker getting 12 to 14 mpg. So how many miles per day would this illegal drive to do what he/she is doing?
How many gallons per day does this make? How much of other energy resources do they use which makes that resource not available for legal immigerants?
It does appear that illegials hurt the legal, honest people in more ways that you can count.

You're talking about the fuel used to move illegals into the country - what about the fuel they buy once they are here?
But then again they are also paying taxes on that fuel too......

So how many miles per day would this illegal drive to do what he/she is doing? I think you're making a very poor argument here. If anything, we should encourage illegal aliens to drive cars that make dump trucks look fuel-efficient . . . and maybe eat, drink, and smoke excessively, too.
That way, they'll end up contributing far more to this nation's economy than just their cheap labor.

Let's see now...
7,000 illegals per day
approximately 12 illegals per pick up truck
equals 583 pick up trucks
If each pick up gets 12mpg and goes 240 miles per day-
that's 20 gal of gas times 583 pick-up trucks
IS THE ANSWER 11,660 GALLONS?
To: Tannerone
If we deported millions of illegals, gas prices would take a serious nose dive.

I would love to know how you calculate that.
The loss of millions of customers would cut consumption dramatically and consumption is a large part of what is driving prices up.

It would also decrease the revenue stream. If you look at XOM's quarterly statement, you'll see that they have very little profit in the US downstream sales. If revenues decrease, if you want to keep a profit or even a 'flat' revenue stream, you would either have to find a new consumer base to make up for the millions of consumers lost or increase prices to balance that loss of revenue.
