There is a lot of complaining, whining, lying, misleading, and really bad analysis going on right now vis-a-vis high gas prices. The latest I saw (early this morning) was an analysis that shows a lack of parity between the percentage increase in the price of a barrel of oil and the price of a gallon of gasoline at the pump. Look, I am not an economist or an expert on these matters. But rather than just moaning about the price of gas and then uttering some disembodied, meaningless statistic I heard from some dude, I have actually been listening to experts over the last few days. And, as with just about everything, to more I learn about an issue, the more I realize how important it is to study things before making snap judgments or determining a personal policy position. Here's the scoop as I now understand it...

I sent him a private mail on Rush 24 x 7 using a certain phrase (it's been a couple of years and I don't remember it, but it WAS unique) and Rush "borrowed" it...I just figured I'd take anonymous honor that he used my phase.

Univ Pics. told my local theater owner that there wasn't enough interest to warrant the cost of copies for a general release.
I heard a phrase I'd posted mentioned by Rush once. Not saying he didn't come up with it on his own but I was suspicious of the timing.

My favorite thing about Sean is that it was on his show that I first heard about FreeRepublic (in Feb 2005). He was criticizing some FR callers with a libertarian take on things, and I thought, "Hm, that sounds interesting. What is this FreeRepublic thing?" So I came here and have been a devoted FReeper ever since. Thanks, Sean!

James Golden. He has a magnificent voice. Had his own shown on Sunday nites on WABC long time ago. Had a partner too. James and Joel. They were awesome together. Joel was sweet but a dem.
