You been eating sour lemons lately?
Spiff -- yours, #88. Is exactly correct. Many of the more recent followers of this particular "flavor" of immigration reform haven't a clue as to what they've been ingesting. It's been very subtle.
Do you agree/diagree with the statements in reply 110
Hold on... I'll take a look.
Bush has diregard for the security of America
I, Alia, without hesitation or wavering, utterly disagree with that assertion.
Bush has contempt for the crime victim's family
I, Alia, recognize that whomever has said such a thing about President Bush is blinded by hate to the point of singular obsession.
Bush has as little concern for America as Clinton
I, Alia, assert that President Bush has not only filled that "hateful hole) -- but gone triple time into positive directions and accomplishing a stunning amount in so short a time and because he cares for America and Americans.
The man came into office, and had to deal with a mess created by the Clinton Administration. And then 3000+ people were murdered on 9-11. I was hysterical with rage and fury during the Clinton years specifically in re the "opening of the borders" under the Clinton Administration. I was involved in those very ugly brawls in CA regarding Prop 187 (immigration reform).
President Bush has defended our borders. He sent our military to the points of origin intending our deaths, rather than have them come here.
So, saying he hasn't defended our borders, is a lie. He has.
And there's more work to be done.
Just as there was a "wall" built in intel vis a vis Gorelick -- the Clinton Admin (with Doris Meisner) wrote some "walls" making it very difficult to zap this issue as easily as some of you would like.
Would you be willing/unwilling to join a demonstration with groups who did agree with those statements and whose purpose was to promote those statements as fact?
I'd never even remotely be involved with a group acting out like pre-menstrual emotive females: "Blaming Bush for the deaths of Americans". And that's exactly how they come across: out of control, bloated, and looking for the first eyeball to scratch out.
Has Bush's actions regarding illegal immigration indicated that "he has disregard for the security of the nation"?
Does "Bush have contempt for the victims of crime" committed by illegal aliens?
Does Bush's actions in regard to illegal aliens demonstrate that "he has as little concern for America as Clinton"?
Bush forced the border patrol to stop very successful interior enforcement activities, so clearly there was money for that.
Clinton managed to conduct SOME worksite enforcement, far more than 100x as much as Bush has, so there was clearly money set aside for that.
Bush also stated today that the border patrol is not allowed to stop people coming over the border unless they are drug dealers. Obviously there IS money for the border patrol, and they should be keeping invaders OUT.
Bush is WILLFULLY hindering the enforcement of the law.
They absolutely are winning people over. Every traitor in America hates President Bush and wants him impeached or worse.
I think he is responsible for some of them, yes. I would cut him slack for any that happened during his first term because he inherited a mess from Clinton and also had to deal with 9/11.
I do hold him responsible for those murders committed by illegals that happened during his second term because I believe (and believed at the time) that securing the borders and enforcing immigration laws should be a big part of Homeland Security. It has been over 4 years since 9/11 and the borders are far from secure.
If I felt President Bush had made an honest effort to secure the borders and to enforce immigration laws, I would not hold him responsible for a single one of those deaths. I do realize no matter how the border is secured or immigration laws are enforced, some illegals will get into this country.
I do not feel that he has made an honest effort.
So you two would agree with the statements in #110?
Worksite Arrests:
Clinton Presidency, first four years, :
1993 8,027
1994 7,630
1995 7,554
1996 10,014
--------------
Total 33,325
Best year was 1997 with 17,554 worksite arrests
Bush Presidency, first four years:
2001 735
2002 485
2003 445
2004 159
--------------
Total 1,824
Best year was 2001 with 735 worksite arrests
Heck, even in Clinton's worst year for it there were more worksite arrests than all of Bush's worksite arrests combined throughout his entire presidency.
Well goody, goody for you! You don't care that it's all fake, just for show, and driven by far lefties who just want to destroy the president and the GOP and help get Dems back in power. How precious....NOT!
Yes, I agree
I don't know enough facts to comment
No, I do not agree
Their method? "By Any Means Necessary". That's a liberal mantra. It's why the threads in FR get polluted -- the obsessed. It's become a group cult.
Therefore, reasonable discourse cannot be had with these. Or, you.
That's the truth - the hypocrisy!
Homeland security doesn't apply to enforcing EXISTING LAWS that apply to illegal alien through border SECURITY etc.. It's nuts!
"The White House responds to civil dialogue, not to a bunch of people whose intent is to embarrass the President with a televised stunt."
Oh, you mean like how they plan to offer amnesty to the illegals carrying the Mexican flag and simultaneously burning the American one?
