Time for a new FreeRepublic folding@home thread.
Our FreeRepublic team of 300+ members comprised primarily of Free Republic members in good standing have banded together to donate their excess CPU cycles to a worthy cause. Via distributed computing, millions of computers around the world, contribute directly to scientific research, in the quest for a greater understanding of diseases such as Alzheimer's, Cancer, and Mad Cow (BSE).
Currently, the team is in 117th place (with 1,038 active CPUs - 29,000 completed Work Units and more than 5,000,000 points).
This is an entirely voluntary program, and if you want to learn more, please see the links posted below (or read one of the previous 16 folding threads)

Happy Mothers to any and all FReeping Folding Moms out there !!!!
We'll do the laundry today, you do the folding !!!!!

I'm really taking off lately even though I lost one (slow) processor. I keep getting these little Gromacs and DGromacs for my G4 dual so it's been moving along at a very nice clip.

A school perhaps. We may find out in 6.3 years. They blew by us in January and we passed them in March or so.
SISD appeared on our radar again :(

If they ever stop handing out the 21XX things maybe we can just run away from them.
Did I mention I hate the 21XX folds.
I know what you mean mouser. I 'm not a fan of those WU either. too much time taken to process and not enough points.
BTW 2 milestones today.....20K and top 50 WOO HOOO
SISD is Stephenville ISD in Texas, and the IT manager has borged their labs for the cause. They are all-around good guys.
I am amazed that we are still holding so strong with the drop from Klutz. It looks like the energy nazis have taken over the district.
I lost a fast system over the weekend and won't have it up until the holiday. We will get more points then.
Just wanted to say....I'm back in the game with some upgrades and a couple of added machines. We need to have this or a new thread bumped more regularly as well....
durn... still no replacement AC in sight, and the weather is getting hotter.
I warned y'all, May through July were not my strong months :)
However, SISD, unless they run year round, won't be climing much longer. They should be shutting down in a week or two, just like we will be.
"Sure wish I could figure out how y'all cut-n-paste those top 20 stat graphs!"
Highlight the info on the page copy into an HTML editor. Then copy the code from the editor into FR.
bump to thread.
Hey soccer, thanks.....now, when I go to the page, I type in my FR nic....and the team #36120, but I don't see a link to download. When I go to the left side column, and click 'download', it just sends me back to where I am, (with the nicname & team fields blank)....arrrrgh!
I'm in....thanks for all the help.....1 more computer stompin the bits! :)
Welcome to the team. Glad to have you on board.
Please invite your friends and family to join as well.
Top 100, here we come!
