A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Laughter in the Bank
I started out with nickles, pennies, and a dime, Collecting them and putting off some pleasure for a time. Anticipation kinda whets your appetite, you know, And in the meantime little piles of coins will surely grow.
So then I started thinking that if coins can be put by, Then why not give some really fun things their own try? Id heard of confound interest and how it makes things grow, And now I think my little bits of treasure will soon show.
Ive been saving up my chuckles, my giggles, and a smile, In hopes Id have a good collection in a while. Im going to put this laugh in there and keep it for my own, Because I know Ill treasure it when Im more fully grown.

An Elephant in My Pajamas
I saw an elephant in my pajamas, I wanted to shoot the thing! First off, they were all stretched out, And I think he lost my string.
The one that holds the pants up. I know Ill need it now. The elephant in my pajamas, Didnt need the string somehow.
Ive got to find a home for him, Lets hope the Zoo okays. Cause then I must go to the store, I need some new PJs.

Chicken Soup
My nephew had a poultry farm! (His stock just numbered two.) He planned to breed some more of them, but then one got the flu. Now, Medicine is not his strength, but he worked for the group. He nursed the sick one back to health. He fed it Chicken Soup!
Thats right, he killed the healthy one, to make the sick one strong. And you may think this makes no sense, but then you have it wrong. For business, its crazy, but thats not where he leans. Hell be a whiz with all the biz of Government Machines!
Where this new math can operate, increases are called cuts, And taxes are investments. In other words, its Nuts! My brothers son will fit right in. He thinks that way a lot. If you call, and you hear strange advice, my nephews who you got!

Apples and Wine
Women are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the tree. Most men don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they sometimes take the apples from the ground that aren't as good, but easy. The apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality, they're amazing. They just have to wait for the right man to come along, the one who's brave enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree.
Now Men .... Men are like a fine wine. They begin as grapes, and it's up to women to stomp them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with.

(I wear red every Friday, but I support our Military everyday!!)
A man is in bed with his wife when there is a rat-a-tat-tat on the door. He rolls over and looks at his clock, and it's half past three in the morning. "I'm not getting out of bed at this time," he thinks, and rolls over. Then, a louder knock follows.
"Aren't you going to answer that?" says his wife.
So he drags himself out of bed and goes downstairs. He opens the door and there is man standing at the door. It didn't take the homeowner long to realize the man was drunk.
"Hi there," slurs the stranger. "Can you give me a push?"
"No, get lost. It's half past three. I was in bed," says the man and slams the door. He goes back up to bed and tells his wife what happened and she says,
"Dave, that wasn't very nice of you. Remember that night we broke down in the pouring rain on the way to pick the kids up from the baby sitter and you had to knock on that man's house to get us started again? What would have happened if he'd told us to get lost?"
"But the guy was drunk," says the husband.
"It doesn't matter," says the wife. "He needs our help and it would be the Christian thing to help him."
So the husband gets out of bed again, gets dressed, and goes downstairs. He opens the door, and not being able to see the stranger anywhere he shouts, "Hey, do you still want a push?"
And he hears a voice cry out, "Yeah, please."
So, still being unable to see the stranger he shouts, "Where are you?"
And the stranger replies, "I'm over here, on your swing."

What a fun, happy post, Amy! You and your graphic artist did a wonderful job - and your poet's not half bad either! ;-) What a team!

You're welcome. I tried my best to come up with a humorous pledge graphic but nothing came to me and I didn't have much time to work on it. The best I could do was make a graphic with PrissyMissy in an attempt to tie it together with your post. I love that photograph of her in the opening. It was taken at that Fondue restaurant in DC, wasn't it? The laughter of a child is the most beautiful sound in all the world.

Yes ... the picture was taken at the Fondue place. I've forgotten the name but it was a fun place and PrissyMissy had a ball there.
The pledge with all the children is sooo sweet and of course when you added PrissyMissy, you made it my favorite. :)

Aloha Amy. Sorry I haven't been around for awhile. I just got back from Taiwan and those people there truly love Americans and really treat us nice. I have been busy but still look in on you and the gang to see what is going on. Hope all is well with the friends here. Good to be home. Now I have to dig up some carpentry to get back in the black again. LOL.

Sigh, no, maybe next year. I have so many projects in the fire right now. Can't wait to hear what Leni has to say about the trip and Doughty One and gosh everyone.
Why haven't I gone to bed yet? It's 4:15 am. Oh well, it's Tuesday and no plans, guess I'll just sleep in - that is if the dog will let me!!!!!
What are you planning for your big day? Party, Party?

I often wonder that about you. ;-)

My mother's taking me out for lunch. After that, I'm helping out in assembling care packages for troops overseas (wait, I'm giving instead of receiving on my birthday??? I must be nuts). Then there's a neighborhood association meeting I might attend. Sometime during the day I should be working on projects that earn me income. Doubt there'll be any partying. But that's OK, I guess. {shrugs} :-/
