IRVINE, California (Reuters) - President George W. Bush said on Monday he doubted a "massive deportation" of foreigners living illegally in the United States would solve the country's immigration woes, as he tried to revive prospects for an election-year agreement in the divided U.S. Congress.
Senators returned to Washington on Monday from a two-week recess after Democrats and Republicans were unable to reach a compromise on what to do about an estimated 11.5 million to 12 million illegal immigrants living in the United States.

All of the Irish? Even the LEGAL ones? Even the citizens? No one has suggested that for any ethnicity and you know it.
Now, there are 30,000 illegal Irish demanding their rights and protesting. SHIP THEM BACK.
Hey President Bush:
Why don't we start with massive enforcement of borders and go from there? It does no good to bail with a hole in the boat.
I am unaware of any such SCOTUS decision. Can you give us a citation?
LOL--good one, RW, we all know that this President is very concerned with overspending! (sarc)
First deporting is nothing new.... INS use to do it all the time but the political will hasn't be there for years....Greyhound buses to the border of some one own country is not cattle cars to the gas chambers no matter how you spin...country all over the world deport people every day... Mexico has no problem deporting people... ...
But the thing is illegal would "self deport" if you dried up the job access to benefits in the US
As for the term "ignorant"...I say in again Dane post was "ignorant" and he's "ignorant"... on the subject... he likes to terminology any symbols that implies some kind of racism to those opposed to illegal...Hispanics are not a monolithic block on this subject....I've lived most of my life in mostly Hispanics neighborhoods... the is a very diverging opinion on this subject among Mexican American... old school, in the neighborhood, to be Mexican American was no different then to be Irish American or German American or Polish American... the "La Raza" (The Race) crap was around but it was fringe... then the "60"'s and it was "big" to trumpet "your race" ... I've watch this crap grow... and the people that this hurts the most is Mexican American...they no more want the"La Raza"bunch talking for them then a I want a skinhead Neo Nazi knucklehead talking for me....
There a race based and anti American agenda behind the head of the pro illegal movement and there very up front about it... they want as many illegal Hispanics as they can get and they do not want the to assimilate in to the the American Nation or learn English, this is not unprecedented, Canada has it's own Quebec separatist group you know they would love to have 12 million illegal French come to Canada, or in the US we have Black separatist, White separatist, Southern separatist, etc. etc. etc...
Well I have live in the middle of this "La Raza" new Hispanic separatist Nation thing for 40 years and watched it grow from a fringe group to what it is now... and they just might pull it off
You seem to be aligning yourself with Dane, someone who is considered to be a part of the tiny FR contingent actually (very) soft on illegal aliens. As a Newbie, you may want to rethink that one.
You are aware, are you not, that FR is a conservative site for conservatives?
Do you smell that? That is a GOP Slaughter coming in Nov.
Amen! Nice post. Our Americans of Mexican ancestry will be the ones harmed most by this crisis. Many have told me how much greif they get from the illegals and their enablers for betraying "the cause".
Don't be silly. I was referring to the illegals. Isn't that what this thread is about...
I am curious however...is it the fact that the hispanics were marching that has got you all in a tizzy? I have not seen a reference to the Irish illegals getting out there in public. A little more common sense among them.
If you look at the CBP goals and objectives, you will see that number 2 of three is the aggressive pursuit of employers of illegal immigrants, but of course, that would be contrary to your view of the Bush Administration, and that is not allowed to be considered.
Massive Deportation of criminal aliens will work. All we have to do is start somewhere. It sure beats the hell out of doing nothing.
IOW, czar is saying that you will not be accepted by the self-called "cool" people clique.
It's almost like these people never left high school.
That's assuming they'll all vote Republican. ....which, as I mentioned earlier on the thread, is a severely misguided assumption. (The GOP would be lucky to nab even a small percentage of these natural future Democrats).
nothing short of massive roundups will satisfy the anti immigrant sentiment around.
Amen.
45,000 buses did not bring them here, so this pro-illegal propaganda about the impossibility of packing them up and sending them back is nonsense.
If you crack down on the employers, the attraction will cease and they will go back on their own. No buses required; no ICE roundups needed. They won't even have to sneak back across the border - we won't try to stop them when they're heading south.
You have no reason to assume I'm in a "tizzy" about anything. And yes, the Irish Illegals, marched, whinned, demanded, just like all the illegals seem to. It's a bandwagon that they are ALL climbing on.

>Women, too? Old people? Children? Don't see how that would work.<
Men would be inducted. Women, children and old people detained until deported. They can wait in their own countries for GI Joe to send the bucks home.
A Democrat congress, which is what Bush is asking for through the nonperformance of his duties, will fire Bush.
Hey...let's round up all Irish living in Boston and NYC and send them back to Ireland.
Is that OK with you?
