Three explosions have been heard in the Egyptian resort town of Dahab, according to the Reuters news agency.
More follows...
I lived for one year in Cairo 1999-2000 studying at an American university there. It felt safe but this shows you never know. I was travelling back to the area with my own daughter back in 2004 and barely missed the Dahab bombing. I heard the ambulances going by my hotel in Eilat.
I have been taking my trips to Prague ever since then.
At the rate they're blowing-up the place and killing people, there won't be much left to see, if the muzzies get their way. No Infidels will be allowed in the ME.
It's probably been said, but welcome to FR!
I can't seem to find one word about this hotel online.
There are many in hotels Dahab so it is extremely unlikely they were staying in this one.
Please keep us updated, though.

"Sinai Resort Town"
Monday, April 24, 2006
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "CAIRO, Egypt Three explosions Monday night rocked the Egyptian resort city of Dahab at the height of the tourist season, killing at least 17 people and wounding more than 150 at just one hotel, according to the doctor who runs Egypt's Sinai Peninsula rescue squad.
Dr. Said Essa said he was headed to the scene of the blasts and that his casualty figures were for victims at the el-Khaleeg Hotel only. He said there were casualties at the scene of the other blasts, but he had no details.
Al-Jazeera television said one of the explosions hit a restaurant.
There have been a string of attacks in Egypt's Sinai peninsula over 18 months, including deadly Al Qaeda-style bombings in the Egyptian resorts of Taba and Ras Shitan in October 2004 and in Sharm el-Sheik in July."

By JPOST STAFF AND AP
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Twenty-two people were killed and at least 150 were wounded on Monday night in three massive explosions in Dahab, on the east of Egypt's Sinai Peninsula.
People were frantically trying to escape the area and dozens of ambulances were at the scene, Zaka reported.
The bombs were apparently placed on a bridge, in the El-Khalheeg Hotel cafeteria and near a police station prior to the explosions.
Following the blasts Israel's security forces raised the level of alert in Eilat."

Aren't the Egyptians meeting with Israelis? They do have diplomatic relations.
The Islamophobes here don't seem to realize that Muslim governments like the Egyptians, Indonesians, and Turks are our allies in this war, and the fanatic Islamists would love to overthrow them. Which of course becomes easier if the West declares war on Islam-in-general.
Indeed, I often wonder if some of our resident Islamophobes are actually Islamist plants.

Can't wait to see what the cowards in Brussels will call this an "act of" in their official statement either, since they officially 'no like' the term islamic terrorism anymore.
We noticed a big change in Amman hotels right after that. Now, before we check in, we have to stand out in the parking lot while our luggage is X-rayed and we have to walk through metal detectors. Quite a way from the hotel entrance. This totally fits the pattern of Al Qaeda. They hit two types of targets:
1) Places in the non-Muslim world where a lot of Muslims live. (NYC, DC, Madrid, London)
2) Places in the Islamic world where a lot of non-Muslims visit. (Bali, Iraq, Amman, Egyptian resorts).
They couldn't possibly be trying to increase distrust between Muslims and non-Muslims, could they?

it appears as if most of the dead and wounded reported are from the hotel. Has anyone heard anything about the 2 other locations hit
Let me guess, the perps were Amish hotel workers?
Prayer for Divine Providence.
You are right. Look how the Taliban blew up those buddha statues. Egyptian temples and pyramids were NOT Islamic and anything that is NOT Islamic is prime targets for them.
At least 30 dead now. 17 of those are from the first blast at the hotel. Others are from second and third blasts at a restaurant and the market area. Dead mostly foreignors but no Israelis.
What names, perps or vics.
Prayers for Divine judgement.
BASTARDS!!
