KERHONKSON, N.Y. Before the bombs fell on Baghdad, Judith Karpova went there to put herself in harm's way, hoping to prevent attacks on a population that was already suffering.

Some of the "Christian" Peacemaker Stooges are also being fined. Just found this on an LGF thread, thought it important. They aren't peacemakers, they are just rooting for the other side. The CPT says on their website they took food & shelter from Saddam, and he moved them to military sites...

Don't do the crime, if you can't pay the fine.
Make your checks payable to the Government of the United States, kindly include your social security number as well.
And wise up you dopes.

I actually agree with these "Peacemakers". A fine is totally inappropriate in this case.
Where we disagree is what the alternative should be.
IMHO a long, long stretch in Federal Pen sounds about right.

Yep. I was afraid I would get banned at LGF, cause after the CPT was in the news, I discovered they went as human shields, and posted about it there repeatedly. I was so appalled that this wasn't discussed in the media. Glad to see AP (& Fox) mentioned it.

"But 10 days before the military campaign began, Karpova left Iraq. She cited several reasons, including not wanting to upset a brother recuperating from a stroke and fear for her life."
The hypocrisy and cowardice of these self-proclaimed "human shields" was amply demonstrated when they all left just before the fighting began. IIRC, they wanted to go to places like schools and hospitals -- which they knew that the U.S. had no intention of targeting. When Saddam assigned them to go to legitimate targets; their true colours were exposed, and they split.

How come none of the Human Shields are over in Iraq NOW protecting the Iraqi Police stations and cars from bombs?
seems like they are missing a great opportunity to prove they were not stoooges of Saddam.
