The only thing that money funded was Mrs. Arafat's shopping sprees in Paris.

hear that he doesn't have such deep pockets any more

that would be logical under ordinary circumstances, but there is so much money in that huge family, i find it hard to believe he is out of cha-ching.

but, historically, i have never understood how the arab/palestinian people have completely TOLERATED their leaders' absolute greediness and lack of monetary support.

some of the RICHEST people in the world can give so little to their people and have their PEOPLE blame the USA for their poverty (a poverty of spirit and mind more than wealth)

If he is captured and or killed it's going to be very funny seeing the Dems trying to pretend that they're happy.

I don't think your comments are unreasoned. What I think is unreasoned is Al Jazeera's failure to see that Osama Bin Laden is killing off many Islamics, in his futal blood lust. Are they truly doing Muslems any favors by airing his psychotic rants?

You don't have to be a westerner to see that Laden and that clown running Iran are bad people. For the most part, people in Iraq are refusing to be a part of Laden's vision of the future. The people of Iran are sick and tired of their abusive leadership.

Al Jazeera should be capable of trying to support things that would make the lives of it's listening audience better. Instead it has opted to be the New York Times and Washington Post of the Middle-East.

I just think that's unfortunate, even though I do agree with your premise.

U.S. cutting funds to Palestine.

Tough titty said the cat to the kiddy.
If OBL. is so concerned about Palestine, he should get all of his Arab Buddy's with all the oil money to fund Palestine.

With the price of oil getting higher each day for Americans,
they are getting much of our liquid assets for their liquid assets. We have always been too generous to foreign country's, and now that they can stand on their own, they should share their wealth with their fellow kind.

You said -- "At this very moment, who stands a greater chance of being set back a thousand years, The United States or Iran ?"

I would say the U.S. -- based on what happened during 9/11. That was a cheap (cost-wise) piece of action -- and it cause so many billions of dollars worth of damage to the economy.

And the President of Iran keeps opening his mouth -- and on the basis of just that -- oil prices keep sky-rocketing -- which bring Iran more profits on their oil.

They do all that -- they get richer. We get poorer. One more major blow like 9/11 -- and we sink back a 1,000 years -- unfortunately.

What do you think the cost (economically) would be of an atomic blast in one of our major cities?

You do that to Iran right now and you could tell the difference in Iran the next day or week. It would look the same.

You do that to the U.S. and there would be a radical difference.

We're in a lot more danger than you think. It's only by the Grace of God that we still maintain... We should remember where our protection comes from -- God and not bombs. If anything, that might be God's message for us, just like it was for Israel, as we see in the Bible.

Star Traveler

i guess deep pockets bin laden holds no responsibility to fund their own terrorism activities.

Ever try to find a Western Union office in the tribal areas? He'd send cash if he could, honest.

HERE IS THE OSAMA WHINING FIT FROM BBC NEWS:

The West's moves to isolate the new Hamas-led Palestinian government prove it is at war with Islam, a tape said to be from Osama Bin Laden says.

The recording, purported to be by the al-Qaeda leader, was broadcast by Arab satellite TV al-Jazeera.

It was the first message from Bin Laden since January 2006, when he threatened more attacks on the US.

However, there is still no fresh information on the whereabouts of the fugitive leader.

Hamas isolation

The speaker on the tape said that along with their governments, the people of the West bear responsibility for what he called a "Zionist crusaders war against Islam".

"The war is a responsibility shared between the people and the governments. The war goes on and the people are renewing their allegiance to its rulers and masters," he said.

"They send their sons to armies to fight us and they continue their financial and moral support while our countries are burned and our houses are bombed and our people are killed."

He said that the decision by some Western powers to cut funding to the Palestinian government since the militant group Hamas won elections there was further prove of this anti-Islamic campaign.

"The blockade which the West is imposing on the government of Hamas proves that there is a Zionist crusaders war on Islam," the tape said.

As in a tape from the al-Qaeda leader in January, the speaker warned of fresh attacks on US soil.

The speaker also criticised Western involvement in the Sudan saying it was part of the "crusades against Islam" and called for terrorist to journey there to join the fight.
